He's always been a chubby-cheecked little guttersnipe, but I just don't see gim making 147. No way.

And what the frigg has he done to deserve any kind of shot against the likes of Mosely or Cotto, anyway? Bot-all, that's what.

I honestly think that Mayorga is the most overrated fighter since, well, since Gatti. Mayorga really is gash.

You can't go throwing Gatti in with Mayorga. Fkk me blue.

Now were you to throw Vargas in there, you'd have a supporter here.

If WInky had been given the nod as he should have been about 8 years ago, we'd never have even heard about this chump.

As for exciting fghts this weekend...I'm intrigued to see how Bojado does.

He'll bring fans and money if he gets back to contendership.

Perhaps Gatti's harsh, but the US fans drove me grazy calling his fight against Mayweather a 50/50 affair. The yanks are always mistaking excitement for quality.

Anyway, Mayorga is hugely overrated, as is Vargas. The pair of them are perfect for eachother. Two lads so pumped to the brim with machismo that their mouths are constantly writing cheques their chins can't cash.

I really think Bojado can come again. People seem to have forgotten how goddamn talented the kid is. He's not so old to make a comeback. He needs to find a happy medium between throwing everything behind every punch as he did in his early days, and not throwning any punches at all, as he did in his Mayweather Sr days.

If he mentally right, and sticks with a good trainer for a few years, he could be the goods at 140, which will be utterly bereft of excitement once Hatton buggers off.

Chumps and gash's these men are not. Look at the stages they've fought on.

Bojado is 24.

Plenty of time.

Mayorga is dump. He's not even close to world class. Really, he was royally creamed by Trinidad, who went on to lose convincingly when he stepped back into genuine world class; he was ka-ka-ed on by Oscar, who looks past his best, he was befuddled by Spinks, and hell, he was lucky to get the nod second time around against Forrest.

Don't like him. Don't rate him. Yes, he's fought at world class, but only keeps getting chances because his potty-mouth puts bums on seats.

He's got a world class punch and chin on him though, how else would a fighter like Vernon Forrest be left staring up at the ring lights otherwise?

Kilburn. You're right I'm being flippant. It's Friday, I'm tired.

I think they've over-earned and been over-hyped for moderate achievement.

Neither Vargas or Mayorga are as good as they are effective at spewing at press conferences.

Every time Vargas has been asked to make good on his words. He's been destroyed.

The best I've seen Vargas box was in fits and spurts against Trinidad....

Gutted when Forrest lost to Mayorga, he's a pudendum.....

They both are punks, had their arses handed them to class acts like DLH, Tito and Shane...

If Mayorga came over here and ripped apart Kevin Anderson, which he would, I'm pretty sure everyone would be calling him world class. It's not even an issue. He only lost his title to Spinks because of points deducted as I remember.

Personally I think if you were in a room and Ricardo Mayorga walked in, you'd show him nothing but genuine respect. Maybe I'm wrong.

Kilburn.

All true.

I guess in the that context they are world class.

Point conceded.

So are they over-achievers, or under-achievers.

I nearly choked on my Coke. Did you actually say that ripping apart Kevin Anderson would be a indicator of World Class? Did you actually say that?

Listen, if Mayorga was genuine world class, he wouldn't have lost every time he's fought a world class opponent.

He's nothing but a foul-mouthed controversy creater that gets a card plenty of column inches as a consequence of his odious ranting. He has done nothing, nothing, to get a shot of any fighter of note.

And Vargas has been living on reputation for at least 5 years.

Mayorga did chin Forrest didn't he.

MW mentions it earlier.

Mayorga is definitely an over achiever with that crazy style.

If Vargas could have moved his head a bit more I think things might have turned out much better for him. He could certainly have outboxed Trinidad.

Bullshit, he decimated both Forrest and six heads Lewis, BOTH world class at the time. And Vargas beat Ike Quartey...enough said.

How many times has a foreign fighter come over here, walloped one of our domestic champions, and been instantly declared world class by everyone who saw it. Think outside the box mate.

Do you think you would respect Mayorga if you met him in person? Or would you be indifferent? Like he was some neighbourhood chav who'd never done anything?

Precisely mon amis.

Just because someone isn't a genuine elite level future hall of famer, that hardly makes them a bum.

Mayorga is a crude clubfighter, blessed with a world class chin and wrecking ball power. He ain't no P4P fighter for sure, but he was world class, even if he hasn't now.

Mayorga is no journeyman, I'll say that. But whatever the uninformed might say after he'd hypothetically beaten a home-grown favourite, he's not world class, and won't be until he actually beats a world class opponent -- beyond one lucky punch and a close and very lucky to win rematch 4 years ago.

If I met Mayorga, I certainly wouldn't bad mouth him, because I'd get decked, and I'm sure I would respect him from peeling himself from the streets to some kind of financial well-being. But he's got no class at all and I tire of all his bad-mouthing, which is neither sharp nor funny.

And the fact that he gets so many shots at big money fights rather annoys me, since he's little more than a top 10 fighter at 154 or gatekeeper to the big boys.

He has a style that makes an interesting fight, he's emminently beatable for any world class operator, and his consistently obscene press conferences put bums on seats. That's simply not world class. End of story.

So it was only the uninformed that called Steve Molitor world class after he trounced Nicky Booth? How about Tshifhiwa Munyai, or Jackson Asiku? Apparently world class fighters so I keep reading, feasting on British domestic opposition.
