No its definatly not that simple.
Its not just the grappling boxers have to worry about, theres the kicks,
elbows and knees aswell and trust me they are equally as effective as punches whatever gloves are worn.
Also dont, asume mma can,t punch cuz most can even if the technique isnt always perfect.

I wouldnt recomend getting into mma without a serious grappling background and learning to sprawl isnt enough.
Any tie up with a judoka or Greco Roman wrestler would be a nightmare.
There is more to offensive grappling than just freestyle shoots.

Sherk/White's response was to try and set up a money meeting with PBF. Naturally Mayweather dismissed such talk out of hand.

Dunno about anyone else, but as boxing has belatedly got its house in order with some quality match making in the second half of this year, my interest in alternative combat sports has wained.

At the end of the day there is nothing to match a world class boxing match, between the best operators in any given division; at least not in my eyes there isn't.

I much prefer Boxing, the fights last longer striking is more exciting to watch than wresteling and there is no art to stradeling someones chest and punching them in the head.

Cage rage is worth tuning in for just for the two presenters. I get the impression they own the outfit as well and their efforts to hype up what is a really poor product are very very funny.

Those two used to outright own it but they sold the company recently for a huge chunk of change to Elite XC I think it was. They have been retained to run the company but that's 2 very rich men there. Not too bad a return, they only started Cage Rage to buy new mats in their gym with the proceeds and now they are millionaires.

fair play to them then, who the fcuk am i to criticise a couple of millionaires. Still amusing millionaires though.

Its a farce having him as the nominal main event - I can only think its for name recognition around London.

The real fans are salivating over the pairing of Daley and Weir. THATS a proper fight.

it was the case. lots of good matchups. but there's been so many pullouts this month and going into next.

Yep, smacks of "payday". He'll get paid a lot more for this than 4 x 3 vs Derek Chisora. Crap for the fans, though, putting Francis in any kind of main event.

Prefight interivew Francis says he's happy with his conditioning!! He looks fat as a pig with even with his shirt on!

Fracis was predictably attrocious. He got mounted on the ground twice in the first round and was gassed quickly. Francis didn't do anything when he was on his feet, barely threw a punch. Tapped out in the second round as he was out of gas. What a joke of a main event.

Francis took his boxing form into this fight!

Yep that was predictably pitiful from julius. Sad to see that. I remember seeing him KO Pele Reid at York Hall. Hope he knocks MMA on the head and finds something else.

should have had sponsorship on the soles of his feet again. he looked atrocious, its a shame to see the demise of someone who was a very very good domestic heavyweight and a decent guy too.
