Not really, but he wouldn't be beaten quite as badly. Vlad is more tentative; Vitali more aggressive. Similar result and round, but not such a beating.

Wlad Klitschko would annihilate Williams. He has a far more fluid style and better jab than his older brother. He could break Williams up with his left hand alone.

What I would do... try and get Jameel McCline to step aside. Put Skelton in with Vitali and then assign the 4 of them too the scrap heap (Skelton, Williams, Sprott, Audley).

the fact ur all talkin bout Skelton in a world title fight shows just how poor the HW division is, gary mason wud prob knock Skelton out if he'd been around 15yrs ago, put all the HW champs together and u'd still be short of a world class fighter IMO.

I'm not talking about him in a world title fight - I'm trying to talk some sense into these people!

Thus saving the viewing public from 12 rounds of sleep inducing boredom. I think you may well have a point. I have said before that the HWs shouldn't feature on prime time t.v. until they show some real promise. I would have much rather seen Marsh v Dean (and that was before the schedule was revealed last week).

Neither am I, Vitali isn't a title fight and Vitali would anhilate Skelton.... Warren could geniunally do the promise of a world title if Skelton wins - but then when he doesn't... Its scrap heap time.

I would get Skelton a European title shot If I was Frank.

Virchis Is shit and even Sprott beat him.

I was referring to Manchester-Mexican's comment.

Agree your scenario would make sense. Skelton makes sense as a top level "opponent", but little else unless he beats somebody at that level.

which is highly unlikely givin the fact he's crap!!!

Could motivation be the problem? Four guys sharing ten fights for British and commonwealth titles with lots of false promises of the elusive world title shot. No wonder they lack enthusiasam wouldn`t anybody?

Then if (or should that be when) he loses, he can have the chop. ITV never say "if Skelton wins and looks good doing so, a world title fight is on its way".

Skelton has moved up to #11 with the WBO - and thats before the Sprott fight... So he could be in the top #10. Maybe the shot might not be out of the equation.

The best fight Matt Skelton has ever been involved in he beat a 'love rival' to smitherines on his door step

Good point, actually. My preview of the fight highlighted how it was the TENTH fight between the four. I thought motivation could be a problem, but then I also thought either of both of them would be motivated by the prospect of showing they are better than this round-robin. Sadly not.

the hayemaker shud step up and put skelton 2 bed along wif sprott, fraudley & williams, at least he looks hungry and wants 2 fight.

I'm not sure a Haye win over Skelton would be that clearcut. If he doesn't land a knockout punch does he have the tank to keep a much bigger monster like Skelton off him for 12 rounds? I am not so sure. I'd pick Haye to win but it would hardly be the formality everyone is predicting. How good Haye will be at Heavy remains to be seen, Bonin was/is piss poor.

Why not stick Herbie in there with Skelton.
I don't think Matt has massive punching power, sure he can bang but I can't remember any clean ko's.
Herbie could go back up to heavy and if he has anything left would KO Matt in about 2 rounds imo. His walk in style would be tailor made for Hide, who we all know could / can bang a bit. I just can't see Matt mauling Herbie for 12 rounds, and I don't think he'd have the power to knock him out.
That said Herbie would have zero chance on the world stage.
These heavies are piss poor, Bruno, Hide, Akinwande, (young Williams), Mason, Oyebola, Welsh and a few others would beat these guys with ease.
Haye is our best chance at the mo, but it would be nice to see another Bruno come through the ranks, someone the general public could follow.
Maybe Bruno could come back!! I am sure he would fancy his chances against any of the heavies right now!

He wouldn't need to maul Herbie for 12 rounds.... Herbie would eventually get tagged and then he will be out of it. For all Skelton's faults he has a decent chin.

Herbie has arguably the worst chin in the History of the sport as a Heavyweight. Skelton would clean KO him with an arm punch.

His chin is like a ball of iron the size of the sun, being brushed by a butterfly's wing, compared to Wayne Llewelyn's.

I'm not sure.... The KO's I have seen Wayne in have been from full blooded shots... Hide was out of it from a head clash with Bowe, and an arm punch from Vitali (admittedly too big punchers, but nothing shots).

If I were Warren I'd be trying to sign Haye like nobodies business, and then get Pryce when he turns pro.

There's no value left in the current crop.

completely disagree about Herbie's chin, it got him through a few fights up to Riddick Bowe. not a Nut Hugger but credit where it's due to Herbie, apart from Bruno (and Semi British Lennox) he was our most succesful heavyweight a few years back.
I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that Herbie would Ko Skelton in 5 rounds or less. Skelton has very little power for a heavyweight and Herbie would have been hit harder by people through the years including those he knocked out early.
For a bit more controversy I think Audley would also stop Skelton. Anyone that can throw a good straight left or right would stop Skelton in his tracks.
I don't really understand why these boxers allow themselves to be mauled by Skelton, sure he is big and heavy but c'mon any boxer with an ounce of skill should be able to move around him with ease.
Matt Skelton is terrible for British Boxing, an Ex K1 fighter making everyone look silly, seems like a nice guy though, lol.

Don't speak too soon - we could always have Audley-Skelton 2 and 3, Skelton-Williams 3, Audley-Williams 3, Sprott-Audley 2 and 3 etc etc. Not to mention if Gammer wants in again!
