The way he is reacting you would have thought they were saying Lennox was playing "hide the rasta sausage" with Audley.

Does anyone reckon Lewis Is only biased for Audley because they share Carribean heritage?

Thats how It comes across to me when Lewis thought highly of Aud.

So does Frank Bruno, and Lewis didn't care much for him.

Boxing News is still a small publication which don't make much profit.

Hopefully it can afford to have a legal battle, win or lose.

Such actions can put small publications to the wall.

Barney Eastwood suing them nearly put them out of business in the eighties.

constant price hikes.......wall to wall advertising...and a dogged determination to give pages of crap about the alphabet titles eg: a headline bigging up the importance of nik valuevs unbeaten record being a threat to Rocky M...etc..or constant mistakes such as claiming the wbo is one of the '4' major world titles.....when actually none of them are bona fide etc etc etc

i say ...good riddance Boxing News and its agenda like all the other cheese eating surrender monkeys

Hardly wall-to-wall advertising. They've got, what, five full ages out of 48? And ads on editorial pages which are hardly intrusive. Tell me which magazines are both low price AND light on ads.

The thing about Valuev/Marciano was a talking point for all, you can hardly expect it to be ignored. And it wasn't an alphabet point, it was a records/stats point.

They claim the WBO is one of the four major titles because that's exactly what it is! That's not a MISTAKE - even if you don't like it, it is nevertheless a FACT. They only refer to boxers who have unified as world champions - all others are "world" champions, if you spot the difference.

Like it or not, the alphabets are here to stay, and you can't expect a publication of record to ignore these things. Which websites do you know who do?

What a twat Audley is, who does he think he is allegedly, maybe he should put more effort in to his training instead of suing magazines.
All he has to do is put his side of the story up on his web site, instead of threatening legal action, I think this is backfiring on him anyway; it just makes him look even more of an arrogant, deluded, tit.
Who cares about what’s true or not true in The Mirror or Boxing News about Audley anyway now, all he has to do is look impressive beating a top 10 opponent in the ring,
And it will all be forgotten, but he will never do that, he is NOT good enough and deep down he knows it.

What's he doing reading magazines anyway, shouldn’t he be in hard training to be "undisputed" in 2008, and more seriously to prove he's not the fraud most think he is.

TOSSER!!!

He didn't go to the Olympics like A-Farce though.

Audley kept ruining his chances and yet Lewis still thinks he could change.

I wouldn't mind betting more people read the Mirror than audleyharrison.com. The point of legal actions against publications is to have your apology/correction given equal prominence to the offending article.

Yes, that's right, because any serious boxer should train for every single minute of his waking day. Who would have time to read?? FFS It's not like he's spending whole afternoons on his PlayStation.

rubbish. have you noticed that they call world titles 'world' titles. why do you think they do that? Because the sancioning bodies are all questionable and devalue championships.

I was being sarcastic about the training thing actually, thought that was pretty obvious.......

All Audley has to do is prove how good he is in the ring, then everyone will forget about the the paper Lewis thing anyway, not that anyone really gives a toss anyway. its not like he's a business man protecting his investments, he can contradict these articles the best way by going in the ring and doing the business.

Agree wholeheartedly with that. The best way for any boxer to prove people wrong is with his in-ring performance.

Christ, Boxing News have been more than fair to Audley over the years.

From memory, the bit he is complaining about was two or three lines (yes, I know Ollie that's no defence!).

Audley has done far more to destroy his own repuatation than anyone else could.

The Mirror wrote:APOLOGY: AUDLEY HARRISON
21/07/2007

IN AN article dated July 7, 2007, we alleged that Lennox Lewis had fallen out with Audley Harrison over differences in a sparring session and that Audley's career is in decline. We accept that these allegations are untrue and that Audley and Lennox continue to enjoy an excellent relationship, on both a personal and professional level, and Audley's boxing career continues to thrive. Audley is currently in full training and expects to be back in the ring in September. We apologise for any embarrassment caused.
Does this count as a significant boxing victory though? I think the Mirror's lawyers should have taken a closer look at the highlighted sentence before letting it go to print.

So Audley's camp/lawyer could have written that nonsense? How exactly does being knocked out cold by a guy who then proceeds to engage in one of the worst fights ever in a British ring equate to a thriving career?

Could not have worded things better myself.
