Mind you could be anyone with a grudge and hardly crime of the century but if true out of order.

Met Tyson when he was in London in January, June 2000. Mike was very polite, softly spoken, and appeared to be at ease with the fans outside the Grosvenor House Hotel.

Got three magazines autogrpahed by Mike, all now framed. One of which, is a b/w picture of Mike & Cus when Tyson was only 13 years old.

There was no let-up in my pursuit of meeting my favourite fighter of all time. I was at the hotel everyday. Security tried to keep all fans outside, but I always manged to sneek in & wait for Tyson to emerge from the lifts.

On one particular day, Mike jokingly commented: "Man, you again"! Nice touch by Mike.

Briefly met Michael Brodie after one of his fights in Manchester. Seemed like a very nice bloke. Hope life after boxing is treating him well.

Someone on here said they met him at a party/bar about a year ago and said he was a nice bloke but didn't like talking about Boxing or his Boxing career.

At the McClellan benefit night spoke to Warren, Witter, Minter, Haye, Barkley, Benn and Nelson. They were all fine - FW was a bit defensive (although I did make a few Boxrec type comments to his face about amir Khan...), Witter was very chatty, but I thought David Haye and Nigel Benn came across best.

Haye is one koolcat thats for sure, very approachable.

John Mugabi - Funny as fcuk - likes a beer.

Tim Witherspoon - Again good laugh, likes a guinness.

and many others I have forgot about over the years.

I forgot - Clifton Mitchell - Met him in Derby and had a few drinks with him after - great bloke.

Damon Hague - Another nice fella.

Boxers seem to be top fellas on the whole.

Footballers seem assholes. Even though I dont follow football

Met too many to mention but a personal favourite is Steve Collins. Big fan of the Celtic Warrior and he was a really nice bloke to boot. Talked about who he thought were the next Irish stars and knew plenty about the Midlands scene.

martin concepcion is a really top bloke, as is enzo mac.

Met Bruno as a kid. I had to skive off school. I turned up in the midst a gang of elderly ladies with all my magazines for him to sign. He was very nice.

The guy I'd have been afraid to meet would have been Monzon. He seemed at peace in the ring but outside of it from what I've seen and read he was a formidable and unforgiving man. Still loved to have met him for the sheer fear factor.

Had a conversation with Kirkland Laing once. That was different.

Lovemore N'Dou was very friendly and patient on the phone, I've found all boxers thus far to be very giving of their time.

I think they're the most accessible of all sports stars.

Robert Wiggins was the hardest to speak to on the phone.

lots of the boxers in BN's 60 Seconds just go 'none' in the last book read section

I've been priveleged to meet thousands over the years.
I've watched boxing all over the world for 30 odd years.
However, the one meeting that is unique is meeting Ali on a hush hush visit to the UK in 1988.
My prize possession is a signed card from him, saying "three times world heavyweight champion after me there will never be another".
He's also drawn a boxing ring on the card.
I didn't get long to see the great man, but it will live with me forever.
Others I would give a special mention to are Hagler, La Motta, Frazier (and Marvis as well) Norton, and Shavers.
All great men - all as down to earth as you could imagine.

I know (or should I say knew, I've lost contact with him) who has spoken to Collins on several occasions and says he's a right arrogant arsehole. Definately DOESN'T give me that impression.

This guy said that Wayne McCullough was the true champion of Irish hearts.

ive known collins for a lot of years now and to me he seems to have become more straight with people if he thinks your a plum he'll tell you
