Man, even our own TzyuForever would be embarrassed by that assertion. Tszyu is a legit top-10 all-timer for the division, but, "best ever," just about finishes your credibility on this subject permanently. Locche & Benitez would've pulled Tszyu apart for every moment of every round, Pryor would eat him up down the stretch, & I'm not going to describe what a bodypuncher of Chavez's calibre would do to a fighter with Tszyu's notoriously wide-elbowed stance, because children read this board, & the results would be too brutal for anything other than an R-rating.

Pep as #2 all-time at 140? Good going. It was always going to take a lot to eclipse the stupidity of your first point of contention, but you were upto the task
I honestly don`t know anything about Locche and I have only seen Benitez fight once. Pryor would have possibly beaten Tszyu but to be serious for a second. How does being wide-elbowed mean you are susceptible to bodypunching? Tszyu held his hands low, near his body and noone ever effectivley budypunched him. Noone hurt him to the body,he was never dropped by a bodypunch. Tszyu fought many mexicans whom were aggressive and he tore them apart(Given they weren`t Chavez)but styles make fights and I don`t see it the same way you would. Whenever people threw left hooks to Tszyu`s body he just fired off a right hand wich almost always got there quicker.

What are you doing calling Tszyu the best 140lber ever if you concede to not having a suitable background knowledge on the division?

You could just be content with saying he's your favourite, if that's what you really meant.

I have just been b.s.ing because it upsets people and I have to mess around sometimes because people on the internet are WAY too serious. That is another topic though. Tszyu is my favorite fighter though. As I stated in the other thread I have seen 32 of his fights(29 being professional) and I have developed a bias. I honestly think he was a superb talent.

He wasn't --- though he was not too far off being such. A great fighter, but not a true great, if that can be said of a man.

Tszyu was an exemplary champion, & just as significantly, an exemplary human being in a sport desperately lacking such figures. Even some of the sport's most celebrated, "good guys," such as Joe Louis, or Alexis Arguello, were drug addicts, who helped fuel an evil industry.

Tszyu is class from his gloves to his boots, though it is debatable either way, IMO, whether or not he is HOF material.

The first part makes sense. I thought he had the ability to hang-in there with the best but as we discussed, his legacy wasn`t everything it could have been. He could have fought better calibre fighters. Losing to say Whitaker or Mosley(Unless he was blown out) would have looked better than Tszyu blowing out Corey Johnson. Tszyu was a class act and he had a genuine love for the sport. You did say he was a legit top 10 fighter at 140,is being even the 10th best fighter ever at that weight good enough for the H.O.F.?

P.S. Can`t wait to see his son go pro.

Agreed, Loche would take care of business. As did Whitaker....hopefully the hypothetical judges would be more fair minded.

I just went off the top of my head on guys that fought at the weight class. Hank being 138 and his opponent being 143 doesn't make that a Jr Welter fight.

Granted, I didn't research it but I'd have a hard time ranking chavez over Ross in any weight class.

I did forget Eddie Perkins, he should be in there.

It's a difficult weight class, not that rich in history and a few wins/close losses against great fighters is enough imo.

Edit: Boxrec ratings are a laughingstock. That isn't close to their worst.
