Lefties are not a problem for a big hitter. They usually drop their left arm as they jab, leaving them open to an overhand right. I nearly broke a southpaw's nose in a sparring session once when he did that.

not all southpaws make that mistake you cant relie on a lefty doing that to beat him if someone was waiting for me to do it. you can see the overhand right coming easily it has to travel to far

U would think Dannys jabb would drop Tarver more so then anything else.
I,d see Tarver using uppercuts to null Dannys attack when he gets in close.
Either way Dec fight date seems to damn far away!!!!!!!

In Green's last fight he KOed a fighter whose only previous loss was a MD in his first fight against a fighter he later KOed. Griffin, two fights previously, had won the WBO NABO title against Nevitt, who was then undefeated in 14 fights. Both Griffin and Nevitt had always fought in the USA. Green's losses to date have been only against Meyer and Mundine. Against Mundine it was obvious he was having trouble making Super Middleweight. Green has never been KOed. He has a strong jaw and a high knockout percentage. He is a former WBC interim Super Middleweight Champion. He beat a former World Champion to gain that title.

Are people writing him off because he is Australian? When is this national inferiority complex going to end ?

You have to be realistic when looking at fights like this, I have seen every fight Green has had in Perth and every one on TV but he did get outboxed by Beyer and lost to Mundine. Tarver even at 38 is better than anyone Green has faced and is only being written off because he lost to a superstar in Bernard Hopkins.
I would love Green to win and will be supporting him on the dqay but i just dont think he can beat someone of Tarvers ability unless Tarver gets drawn into a slugfest which is unlikely.

^I actually think it is more to do with Taver's poor showing against that Elvis bloke (Elvir Muriqi) in his last fight. If Taver comes in to fight Green unprepared and expecting an easy fight as he did against Elvis he should get KTFO! Lets hope he hasn't learnt his lesson

Just a few things! Tarver and Green are two guys that have proved they can take a shot. 1 Good thing is that Tarver does not like a brawl. This is how Glen Jonhson beat him; Danny should follow this plan. 2 bad things are that Greens best weapon is the jab. This is useless against South-paw unless used at the body. Danny has to fight in close quarters and bring back that good upper-cut as well as develope a hook by Dec.1. The other bad thing is that the fight is in America with refs that are not going to let Green get away with his bar fight tatics he used in his last fight. I think if he protects his chin and makes it a war Tarver at 38 will gracefully bow out. Fight well probally go 12, but like Muriqui and Jonhson; Green can just out work Antonio.

If Green does win this, that would make him the man that beat the man that beat the man? Or would we have to ask questions about Green untill he fights Johnson another guy that beat the man that beat the man etc etc. Or would he have to fight Hopkins ?.

He would probably have to beat Hopkins to be the man at Light Heavy (a fight he will never get). But regardless of that if Green beats Tarver he will have a win over someone who has a win over the best p4p fighter of our generation, it just so happens that he won't be the only one :P

Thats interesting actually. Which big fights are out there for him? I can't see him getting a fight with Hopkins and I wouldn't think Chad "The Retarded" Dawson would be interested. Johnson could be a chance but I don't really know how big a fight it would be / how much $$$. The only real fight would be Woods and even that is if he can hold his Title for long enough (I think he is fighting Gonzalez next and I'm still not sure if he has to fight Johnson after that?)

I hope Green can win but it might not be as plain sailing afterwards as expected...

beat tarver he becomes the great white hope in a division ruled by americans. opens him up to fight any of the big names out there, how can it not other than them being scared?

green has a left hook, trust me, look at a few of his earlier fights. it should have been the punch that put mundine to sleep but no excuses there. also maybe ask beyer 1 whether jabs are ineffective against a lefty?!! he looks in the mirror every day and sees a reminder!

I think Zsolt Erdei could beat Tarver and Chad, Shame theres no money in fighting him.
