Thing is, Sky have no choice, it's the broadcasting regulations, you simply cannot allow swearing on live TV at that time of day, they will get a massive fine as it is.

Yes, I agree... However, I don't think they needed to have stated their opinion on it... One of them was almost trying to potray Hatton as the bad guy, and Mayweather the good guy. Did you hear him about 10 minutes after going on about how Mayweather not only walks the walk, but talks the talk so well and articulately and him being a "proper gentleman".

Mayweather is far from articulate. His meandering rants are incredibly tedious and charmless, he's as smooth as a bag full of badgers balls.

Exactly.... The guy clearly isn't a boxing fan so why didn't he just say sorry and on to the football.

The segment with Hatton and the dance guy (slightly camp guy) who knew a guy called Floyd was some funny shit aswell.

Terry D wrote:Mayweather can be articulate post-fight but his persona does not allow for it pre-fight. I've never seen him look bad when talking about a fight after the event, he is often very good.

Just a pity he buys into this gangsta mentality, there are plenty in Manchester who do also but were they out supporting Bling Bling Floyd, were they feck, they were at home scared of getting their trainers wet.
Give him his dues he was EXCELLENT on one of these Big US chats shows post DLH.... Even saying why he could see why DLH thought he might have got the decision.

There was absolutely nothing wrong witrh what mayweather was doing at the press conferences over this five city tour. I haven't seen him disrespect hatton anymore than hatton has dissed him. There was certainly nothing wrong with thae sky reporter stating that floyd was acting graciously at the morning conference as he was, im sure ricky has been applauded many times before by sky reporters and fans alike, for being gracious and showing class. I am a fan of both these boxers, and i actually thought floyd came off best in manchester. he was calm, not fazed and said everything from the heart, where as ricky seemed to of had the little quips that he came out with pre-prepared and apart from that didnt really know what to say.

well they are boxers after all, they are not bound to be able to stand in front of a load of people and talk for an hour (mind you Ricky's on the after dinner circuit ain't he so he might have had more to say if he'd wanted - mind when you're stood in front of a guy you're about to fight you probably don't feel that talkative I would guess.

It was a shame that the generally-regarded best boxer in the world was reduced to standing in front of a big crowd of away fans sticking his V-s up like that - I think he's a cut above all that sh^t - it's not the behaviour of a champion, he was just forced to play to the cameras - but then, at the end of the day that's the kind of stuff that will sell the PPVs and make him the millions.

Must admit that was bloody funny...what was that SKY fella banging on about? The pressure is getting to Hatton etc is that the best feeble apology they could come up with?

Mayweather needs to be careful IMO imagine someone pushes him into that crowd...flip me that would be the end of the arrogant wanker.

I think they were only boooing Mayweather because he was wearing a Manchester United Shirt.......their all City fans.
Anybody think Mayweather was informed and advice to wear the shirt to stir it up alittle more.

P.s when i say only booing because of the shirt,i meant another reason,we all hate him anyway lol.

This is a boxing match. If you want a good orator listen to John Betjeman. :box:

Hatton should lay off the f word and the chewing gum, and the bhs suits

Badgers balls ?? are they a bit rough to the touch like ? but hang on a minute why would anybody want to go touching, ...oh never mind. :o

Tell ya what tho' , the shots of old Ricky on the big bag, eh? the lad is class, you can tell just by the bagwork, very fast.
I give the lad a great chance.

funny how ricky uses the f word and no one says sh!t, but mayweather sticks his middle fingers up at the crowd playing along with the chants, '' who the effing hell are you'' and he gets accused of not behaving like a champion. oh the double standards on this board, have reached an all time high. Northeastboxing fan.

Hatton has changed his tune from the original press conference, hasn't he? You can see he's obviously succumbed to Floyd's taunting and finally caved in .

What do you expect? Fights like this is where nationalism rears its ugly head. If Britain wasn't so PC, it would be no different from the Hagler/Minter scenario a few years back. Hopefully the fight ends in the same way

Nah don't see it that way fella.

No doubt Hatton felt a tad uncomfortable in the States with the whole playground gangsta rap bollox that PBF portrays for hype. Hatton chose to laugh it off probably knowing that his more earthy dry humour would be best suited for the last stage of the promotional tour (in his hometown).

He may have felt a sense of release in using the f-word a few times in cutting PBF off and probably knew it would be well recieved amongst his following.

At the end of the day all of this will have little bearing on the fight IMO.
