Clinton Woods is the best Light Heavyweight in the world, no I would not have said that a while back but due to sheer guts, courage and good old fashioned hard work he deserves his place as the Number 1.

Woods should go to America and shock a few people there.

well if he did so in a more impressive manner than Hopkins then he has certainly done more against legitimate contenders of the weight. Winkey is a middleweight and so the only other leading fight at LHW he has fought is Tarver.

Well if woods beats him by KO he shows he has much more power than Hopkins at least and would give himself some claim to be a lickly winner of the match.

that was when Johnson was a middleweight, and very raw, in 1997 so does it really count?

I can't agree he's 0-3. Remember Lederman saying that Johnson's pressure is inaccurate and "ineffective" vs Tarver 1? That's what Johnson's pressure like was vs a tired and defensive Woods 1. He was winging and wanging but not always hitting target. Woods did enough good countering and had a massive last round to eek out a draw. He should have been behind but it should have been a 2 point round to even things up. Ppl talk about the hometown judging but the fact is referee Ian John Lewis called it wrong after Clinton landed a short right that made Glen slump to his knees in delayed fashion (after staggering him with a temple shot).
Fight two was all Johnson; fight 3 saw Woods stand up to Johnson all the way in a close, fierce and thrilling bout and dominate the last 3 after nearly being knocked out in the ninth. Johnson's promoter had more of a stake in the promotion than Woods'! Johnson came over from Florida but Woods was in the "away" corner, LOL. I have them 1-1-1, though it could easily be Johnson 2-1.
Either way, a 4th fight is a great fight that no one watching on British TV would complain about.

Chad Dawson is a massive talent. Adrian Diaconu is an absolute buzzsaw. Glen Johnson is always dangerous and for my money is (still) a better fighter than he was ten years ago.
Just because Tarver and Jones are boring lethargic and pretentious doesn't mean 175 is no good. Calzaghe & Kessler may be bound there. Dean Francis is excellent and would be world class if he had two good shoulders.

Woods needs a big fight against a respected name to claim he is anywhere near the top of the division. For that, he'll have to go abroad because I don't think Hobson can deliver the fight.
