how were the GCSE's Albert? Did you get the F grade you were optimisticly aiming for? :TU:

i remember reading a good feature on Femi in BN, he had it hard so it's good to see him turn his life around like this.

sounds like a good little domestic scrap. rematch?

I used to come here to get away from Spud.

I dunno, you stop going to Benidorm and you still find too many tourists.

Now now chaps, play nice....

I had Bell winning it to be honest, but it was a good fight and I was pleased with how he reacted. Obviously gutted but great sportsmanship and I'm sure - with Arnie in his corner - he will learn from it and come back stronger.

I really rate Femi; just a shame he can't punch much. Kind of a SFW Napa. Not that it's a bad thing...

And while your name-dropping is well-known, it's fair enough to say you regard Farnell as a friend. Many people on this forum do have pro boxers as friends and it doesn't matter if they mention it.

Why, though, do have to "prove it" with some oblique reference to a joke.

Ooh, look at that, they REALLY do talk to each other, ooh, I wonder what that joke was; I'm so jealous, Spud must be a great guy to be so matey with Farnell.

FFS, if he told you a good joke, laugh at it when he tells you and tell him you liked it at the time. Why do you need to do it on a public forum?

Spud, lots of people here know lots of boxers. Why do you think they're interested in your little tales?
He knows Paul King too......although once again their relationship became all too public courtesy of the BBC website. Some people will do anything to get on camera.

Would have liked to have seen Femi in with Gomez before he accepted the Johnansson fight. Would have been a good test for Gomez and probably a war becuase both of them would go at it without Femi having the power to hurt Gomez.

Thought the decision was tight, not too controversial IMO. Personally, I would have gone with Bell but Howard Foster saw it different so that's that..

The decision was not dodgy, but the shoes that Hobson was wearing definately were. :TU:

I only saw the highlights on ITV but Femi looked like he was digging deep and really wanted it, fair play to him. I agree with Oliver i like him too, neat boxer who makes the most of his assets despite lacking a dig, Femi has found his level but maybe Bell has too. If only he could hit a bit harder, even though the Johanneson loss was a whitewash in the end Femi had his moments (didn't he win the 2nd?!) with the jab and movement. In the end it came down to power and Johanneson's body shots making the difference.

Oliver - what I wrote with reference to Arnie was not offensive in anyway whatsoever - if you are that bitten with jealousy that you feel the urge to consistently have a pop then I suggest it is not only me who needs help!!!

Arnie

I hope you are proud of yourself you ugly tw*t all because I stated I knew you I am taking all of this shit - for f*ck sake whats so spectacular about knowing Arnie Farnell and whats so good about admitting you like his shit jokes!!! :TU:

Deserter

Fair do's respect to you.

Rhino

I seriously think you will haunt me beyond the grave!!!

Fatton

With your references to Paul King - people in the know will tell you we got on just fine in Vegas - whoops another name drop silly me and it was free!!! - whoops more bragging!!! - but we did get a bit stressed looking after all those premiership footballers - whoops more name dropping!!!

Payne

Good evening you elitist yorkshire ****!!! ... whoops forgot insular!!!

LadyBoy

Got to admit mate in reference to your post ... I failed ... didn't even get an "F"

Back to the thread ... Behave Children!!

Really thought Femi looked the stronger in the fight and deserved his win - how Rhino can say Bell landed the cleaner shots throughout the fight is beyond me - but there again he only comments on boxrect to make as he put it Spud combust!!!

Seriously does anyone here seriously think Stephen Bell had control of the fight throughout and does anyone seriously think the decision was a controversial one??

I think the fight was good and I would love to see a rematch both of them worked hard to win it and femi just about shaded it on the rounds I saw.

Albert/Spud....If you are indeed Spud then you're opinion simply doesn't matter as you know nothing about Boxing whatsoever. Crawl back under your stone you ugly looking foetus featured twat.

Albert, if you are not Spud, I apologise but he is a complete prick.

Yes, when Femi was on the floor Bell was in control. The fight was close, could have gone either way. I don't want to harp on about your biasness - but it it was Bell's arm raised at the end, would you have said that this was just a typical home promotion decision? Meager vs Hunt was close but I remember you harping on about that being a hometown decision.

The fight was close, being that there was a winner than some will obviously see it as controvesial.

i dont remember meager v hunt being remotely close, got to be one of the worst ever decisions and surely would not have happened with 3 judges, but im going off topic, sorry.

I thought the decision was close, it seems you and others simply cannot stop having the digs can you?

The Meager/Hunt decision was a totally disgraceful in my opinion - perhaps one of the very worst I have seen.

To your final point - I fully acknowledge the fight was very close - but I felt the deserving person had his arm raised in victory. In indeed Bell had his arm raised I would have been a tadge annoyed but hindsight being a wonderful thing I simply would have had to ackowledge the fight was very close indeed.

I scored the fight by 2 rounds to Femi - the Ref had it by 1.

I'll politely agree to disagree there - I thought a geniune case could be made for either man. Sky had it close also. They didn't show the whole fight mind.

What dig? So you wouldn't have thought it a home promotion decision had Bell won? Some people thought Bell won, some people thought Femi won end of.. it was close. You have a connection with Femi and obviously want him to do well - nowt wrong with that.

Why would you need "hindsight" to know the fight was close? Not a dig just a question.

Absofukingwelllutely.

Its the beauty and the beast.

John Simpson vs Dazzo Williams, Earl vs Vanzie II were certainly far worst calls IMO. Simpson vs Williams especially, in know of a few guys who at least "made a case" for Hunt, some even thought the decision was just - yes, more thought Meager won no doubt. However, I don't know anyone who could even make a case for Williams - it was a boxing lesson.

No I would not have thought it was a "home" decision if Bell had won - I have already stated I thought the fight was a very close one to call - but at the sametime I thought the right person got the decision.

With regards to the hinsight question - sometimes it is always best watching a fight a 2nd time with the volume off - then you are making your own decision!!!

One of the worst things I have seen at boxing and I simply cannot get my head around is - one of the judges sits right smack in the middle of TV and radio!!!

The very worst has to be at the Gorsebrook Leisure Centre - come on remind me who he was the little scouser "Colin ???" against the South African.
