That's not really fair to say. I think Wayne is a big boy and still has his smarts about him. If he didnt want to fight, he wouldn't fight!

I think Wayne McCullough knows he has a good chance at pulling it off. Martinez seems nothing more than a banger, and even an older McCullough probably has enough ring smarts and speed enough to stay away. Plus Wayne's a tough guy, and it's only been world class guys to take him out of the picture...this man, nobody knows much about, other than exposing that Bernard Dunne was just a fluke.

I'm with Wayne on this. I think he can do it.

As usual, Wayne won't go down, but the ref will stop this in about 3 rounds.

It's a difficult one to call, either Wayne wears him down in 8 or 9 rounds or Kiko KO's him early. We don't know what Martinez is like in the trenches or how his stamina will hold up late on in a fight.

But that's it, McCullough doesn't have the speed or ring smarts to avoid punches. Why avoid them when you can block them with your face?

Even if Martinez is just a banger, I can't see him failing to land plenty of leather on old Wayne

I think Kiko will club him all night, waynes heart combined with a partizan crowd will have him standing to the end of the fight instead of finishing it early.

However if Kiko does KO him, then its a case of Kiko getting a world title tilt.

Wayne scares me coz he actually thinks he can still mix it with the big boys on the division. He thinks this will be a stepping stone fight to bigger things. He messaged me on Facebook. I wish he'd quit before he does any long term damage...... Assuming he hasn't already

As I said above, I think Wayne will be stopped inside 3 rounds. He won't get knocked out or knocked down, but the ref will be looking out for him and see he's taking too many hard shots to the head. Don't know why Wayne's doing this. He's an intelligent, articulate bloke with other strings to his bow and nothing left to prove. His best days were a decade ago. I also think several people may be underestimatng Kiko Martinez. He might be a lot better than some think.

There is no doubt that McCullough is just a pale shadow of the fighter he was in his prime. But if he can get back to even 80% of what he was in the first Larios fight he as to have a chance. While I would love to see McCullough retire for his own well being part of me is really looking forward to this fight.

If you disregard the Dunne fight Martinez doesn't have anyone decent on his record. Dunne's ability to take a punch has always been suspect. Looking at the guys Martinez beat in the run up to the Dunne fight I find it surprising that he was even ranked in the top 5 contenders for the European title..

This could be very interesting, maybe Martinez does have potential to be great or maybe he just got lucky against Dunne. A lot will be revealed if he finds McCullough still coming strong in the second half of the fight on front of a passionate Kings Hall crowd.

Has any one got a link to a site giving odds on this fight? I keep reading how much of an underdog Wayne is. If this is reflected in the betting I'll be gambling a a few quid on the pocket rocket.

Sure theres no doubt that kikos record has a softie look to it, but I still cant get my head around them gambling the full purse of the dunne fight on a first round ko!!!!

Thats confidence, ability and pure balls all in one.

I just have a good feeling about Martinez.

Fight Academy must have something invested in Martinez, he is on their list of fighters on the website.

Definately watching Martinez after he exposed Dunne's low guard and chin.

Hope McCullough wins this and then there's a fight between himself and Dunne. That would be an Irish derby and a half!
