Should be competitive and difficult to beat certainly difficult to KO.
Difficult to KO who? Calloway, if you think that have a look when Chagaev KO'd him and Audley

He's been just as inactive having a 3 year brake to compeet in UFC or what ever. Don't see much value in that although he may be a potential title fighter in 5 fights time.

Enzo is world champion now the criteria for a fighter for him to face shouldn't be "a decent name... didn't look good last time" it should be "one of the best cruzers in the world.
Whilst Williams never won a world title - his scenerio is similar to Herbie Hides - always considered to have good skills but too small for the big men. His main weakness was his chin at Heavyweight. Williams is ranked by the WBO at Cruiser so thats something.

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with what your saying - but for a two week notice job I think Williams is acceptable and personally think a harder ask than Sellers or Calloway. Yes, Sellers was briefly a world champion, but Jeremy Williams isn't 40 either.

Darnell Wilson wanted the fight, why didn't they draft him in?

Just a line that says Sellers out and Calloway could fill in.

Check out Buck Smith's amazing record, it's three pages long.

According to a thread on the Current Scene which someone praporting to be Calloway himself has posted it would appear that he priced himself out of the fight. Wonder who the opponent will be now.

Well unless Mr Calloway is not Mr Calloway it ain't happening according to the mans own words across the way there so who are we left with.

Ratings below

JR. HEAVYWEIGHT
(200 lbs.)(91,00 kgs)
Title Name Country
Champ ENZO MACCARINELLI GB
Interim
1 Marco Huck GER
2 David Haye GB
3 Johnathon Banks (NABO) USA
4 Vincenzo Cantatore ITA
5 Gregory Drozd (Asia-Pacific) RUS
6 Giacobbe Fragomeni ITA
7 Darnell Wilson USA
8 Herbie Hide GB
9 O'Neil Bell USA
10 Alexander Alexeev (Int-Cont) RUS
11 Alexander Gurov UKR
12 Rudolf Kraj CZE
13 Rob Calloway USA
14 Wayne Braithwaite GUY
15 Vadim Tokarev RUS
**

Look who's number eight, how long has he been there?

My guess would still be Wilson, although I am surprised to see Gurov in at 11 so wondered if that is the fight they are going for.

Need to get a move on its less than two week and they still have no opponent for Maccarinelli or Rees

that's way too easy, sensible and respectable for the jokers behind all this

Cantatore

Did Cantatore get a gift vs Gurov, in Italy?

Cantatore won't take the fight for short change, away from home and at shortish notice. Remember it took Nelson ages to finally get him into the ring.

If I was Wilson i'd be making some real noise about wanting the fight, SN are running out of options.

Warren wont pay the likes of Huck or Wilson enough to come in at such short notice and they wont get Gurov cos no matter what he does it'll be a worse result than Haye's.

Herbie Hide would jump at the chance and he should be fit as he only fought last month.

I bet SN are wringing their hands about HH. Here's a guy who will give terrific box office for their money, will excite the fans and will PROBABLY get sparked in double quick time.

But, but.... :TU:

very much doubt it. a few rds of Mac attack and Wilson will go back into loser mode the rest of his career, IMO.

Huck would definitely be expensive and at any rate he's the IBF mandatory. I reckon Wilson would be relatively cheap (and crucially was willing to travel). I agree on Gurov. He might even still be dangerous because his MD loss to Cantatore in Italy could mean anything.

I think HH is worth the fight the reward is far greater than the risk although having said that I haven't seen him at this weight. As has been mentioned there may be problems cos there is an arrest warrent or something.

Huck would never travel, he's a Sauerland/ARD homeboy. Plus he's IBF mandatory and i expect he will beat Cunningham who will no doubt have to travel for the defence.

I wish Enzo was fighting Ding Instead.

Those ESB nuthugggers are annoying and kissing his ass just because he posts there and can't handle when someone puts an opinion forward why Ma c would outbox him silly.

let's have some perspective. warren is obviously concentrating on calzaghe-kessler. this man has absolute control over who his fighters defend against. if he doesn't have the full picture on Wilson, he isn't going to give Wilson the call & sod everyone else who wants to see a decent fight.

All that will happen is Enzo's rep takes another beating, then he probably gives Wilson the cruel beating of his life next year (when we no longer care about the fight...)
