I think it takes a bit more than that to become British number 1
with no amateur experience.

Depends if were talking general public or boxing anoraks like us lot
Khan - overrated by general public underrated by fans
Hatton - overrated by general public, underrated by American anoraks
Calazage - underrated by Yank Anoraks
Most boxers aren't know by the general public so onto the fighters udnerrated by fans:
Witter - I think he could hang with the very best, possibly be elite, no one rates him as such. Will we get the chance to see how good he can be? I hope so
Not udnerrated:
Danny Williams - skills and pwoer yes. Conditioning NO NO NO. So hes just not good enough. Hes like Buster Douglas in some ways, could be a top level fighter but not the motivation.
Clinton Woods - very good boxer BUT probably would lose to the top guys at his weight and arguably lost to Glen Johnson again last time in a close 1. I don't think anyone under or over rates Clinton, hes quality, solid, skilled but just not the best around. I think RJJ still beats him tbh

Colin Lynes is underrated.
I think Enzo Mac is as well. People just see him as a plodding puncher but he's more than that.

You did, by association.
If you read my article, you'll see my argument is that Small came very close to winning by stoppage himself, and was dominating at one point. He was ahead on points when the stoppage came. People, in their haste to celebrate Small getting "exposed", forget these facts.
So if he's shite, Pryce can't be fair behind him in those stakes, given how well Small did against him.

I think your being a bit haste there Oliver, Small close to stopping Pryce - cannot remember that. Was Small up on the cards at the time of the stoppage? Obviously, you found that out - bit shocked at that. Couldn't have been more than a round up, surely?
I personally don't think its celebrating the cocky fighter losing is problem - as I said before it is the fact that the fight with Pryce was so close. What Small appears to be is domestic title level at best - any predictions that he'll go further is OVER rating him. I think more people thought he would AT LEAST be a domestic title level fighter than thought he wouldn't even make that grade - still do.
For my money Facey gave Pryce more problems than Small did.

Yes Oliver, you're being nasty!
Pryce is a decent boxer but he's been lauded on the back of victories over Small and Concepcion.
If he stepped in with Moore he would lose, and if he even dreams of Vernon Forrest it will be a massacre.
Decent boxer, but overrated.

What is hasty is writing off Small so quickly. Pryce was a massive step up for him compared with previous competition, and so long as he takes his lesson from the defeat, there's no reason he can't come back better for the experience.
