I don't think so. He couldn't even clean KO a shot to shit Reid and he's going to KO Calzaghe? Not going to happen. Froch is nowhere near Calzaghe's class that is clear as day.Chambers2 wrote:Carls BIG uppercut and straight right sparks JCMax Molyneux wrote:Are you trying to provide us with comedy?because he knows Carl is very dangerous and that he'd get KTFO(I know you don't agree)
Reid was all done in the 5th though and Carl gets stronger down the stretch. Carl has the power to hurt JC and the finish to stop him.nickd wrote:I don't think so. You are exaggerating. Who has Froch stopped to suggest he could stop a P4P fighter like Calzaghe?Chambers2 wrote:Reid was all done in the 5th though and Carl gets stronger down the stretch. You're right that its not going to happen, but what P4P fighters had Honeyghan stopped Curry? What P4P fighters had Ricky stopped before Kostya? Froch is a BIGGER P4P puncher than both IMOnickd wrote:You are exaggerating. It's not going to happen anyway, Froch has been defending his British title and Calzaghe is chasing big fights. Froch is still 2 or 3 fights away from a title shot of his own IMO.

I agree that it looks as though Carl could be outworked by an aggressive busy fighter, he tends to lose rounds that he shouldn't do through his sometimes lacksidaical approach, but its very rare that Carl gets took the 12 round distance. His power, speed and his fitness late in the fight usually get him the stoppage. The question is whether he'll be able to do this against the elite fighters in the division (the answer is yes)lvlarc wrote:His recent win over Reid in 5 rounds looks good on paper but he seems the type that can be outworked by an aggressive fighter whilst throwing those big single shots.
It's a good point. I was at the York Hall that night and Froch looked all set to get a spectacular first round KO with a wicked uppercut, but subsequently looked distinctly one-paced and seemed to be searching for a single big shot all the time and consequently letting Magee outwork him in patches. He eventually pulled off a vicious finish that only partially covered up the fact that he should have finished off Magee far sooner.nickd wrote:If Froch was as devastating a puncher as some of you make out it wouldn't have taken 11 rounds to catch up with Magee who has a shoddy chin. Julian Jackson he isn't!
Froch is the only one to stop Magee though and Brian is a very good Euro level technical operator who's not that easy to hit. IMO Carls a devastating puncher and I reckon he'll further prove that over the coming yearsnickd wrote:If Froch was as devastating a puncher as some of you make out it wouldn't have taken 11 rounds to catch up with Magee who has a shoddy chin.
