Ones going to be at a major disadvantage what ever way this happens. You might as well make a thread should Calzaghe fight Maccarnelli cause you have a similar scenerio here.
And no, its not cause I am Welsh - but for me, I would rather see them fight with the titles on the line than with not. We are either going to have a Haye at 80% vs a Mac at 100%, or a Mac at 80% vs a Haye at 100% - I cannot think of a scenerio when its going to be at 90%-90% or even 100% - 100% (well, not for a good few years).
So, if its going to happen at all - then why not for the Cruiserweight belts. As Richie Woodhall said as Woodhall said when Bunce said he can't do the weight "but he's done it tonight" and my word, what an outcome.

No. The window of oppportunity has passed. FW should have made more of an effort at the time.
Haye should be looking onwards and upwards and not letting Sports Network hold up his career like they're holding up Enzo's. Tell them that they're welcome to get it on at HW strictly on the former undisputed cruiser champs terms.

Why should Haye put himself at a disadvantage, when he now holds all the ace cards?stujones wrote:Ones going to be at a major disadvantage what ever way this happens. You might as well make a thread should Calzaghe fight Maccarnelli cause you have a similar scenerio here.

We both know belts mean next to nothing these days.
I would like to see the fight of course, but Haye is the man, that is'nt even debatable now.He makes the demands, and if Enzo wants the fight, he accepts them.Afterall, Haye has bigger challenges out there IMO.
I've been one of the many advocates for Haye-Enzo, but if Haye can't make cruiserweight safely, then I don't see how it can happen. Its a fight I'd love to see, but if they can't agree on a catchweight bout (unlikely to IMO) then we're gonna have to wait for Enzo to move up.
The fight was there to be made a year ago or so, but Warren put a stop to it by insisting on options on Hayes career. Thats the decision robbed us of the fight. I'd love to see this fight more than any other, but I'd be amazed if it happens any time soon.

I remember 2 years ago starting threads on here for Haye/Macca and Calzaghe/Froch - At the time my opinion was both fights were possible and Haye/Macca the more likely - Since that time an awfull lot has changed - As with all things in life if you dont strike the iron while its hot opportunities are missed - Politics, agreement over purses and lack of willingness etc all contributed to these fights never being made - The fighters, and I refer to Haye and Calzaghe have moved on and there cant be any backtracking now - We are left with what if, and I imagine that will be an issue for discussion for years to come, but its time we moved on as well because we know now these dream fights are never going to happen.
If it meant no Mormeck vs Haye, then I am glad that Enzo vs Haye never happend.
Yiddo - Yes, I know what your saying - but at the same time why should Enzo be fighting at a significant disadvantage also. As I said, I don't think you can (for a few years anyway) get these too fight at an even keel. Why is Enzo being potrayed as the "bad guy" cause he is too small.

Enzo is getting a bit of stick for what he said Saturday night and in the build up to Haye's title challenge.stujones wrote:If it meant no Mormeck vs Haye, then I am glad that Enzo vs Haye never happend.

According to him, Haye bottled their potential fight(nothing to do with chasing the best cruiser in the world)and Mormeck were'nt upto much anyway(despite being the undisputed champion..)
Enzo and Fwank have'nt stopped banging on about Haye, and how Enzo would beat him/how Haye has bottled it for nigh on 2 years now(fair enough, it's mainly come from Fwank).
Apparently it is the fight they really want, so bow down to the champions demands and get it made.
Haye is the champ, if anyone has to give up anything in order to make the fight, it should be the relatively unproven(at the very highest level, a washed up Braithwaite is'nt on that level I'm afraid))challenger, Enzo
As you say, it won't happen for a long time anyway, if at all.

Fvck Macarina-whatsisface.
If Mormeck wasn't much cop, why'd Enzo scrape the WBO belt out of the shitter by fighting a bloke who was a solid British-level operator, at best? Why not fight the bloke who was consensus, recognised NUMBER ONE?
Because he thought he'd lose, or his paymasters thought he'd lose. Well, bollocks to him & his handlers.
Sorry, I just found out what Haye said about "three British champions" after the fight & he's right. We don't have the nads to go out & prove things in this country, & when a boy does those who sit at home & do not strive whine & cavil like the poisonous gits they are.
Er, sorry what was the question?

Make it at 210.
Personally, I think Enzo fancies it offensively, I'm not sure he fancies stopping Haye's 215lb fists with his chin.
Enzo could still make 190, the old limit.
The window closed this summer. End of.
Enzo is the date, that missed the bus, while Haye was at the pictures with his arm round the school hottie.

The reason we are talking about this fihgt is because Haye asked for it months ago. Haye said he didn't even want Mac's title, let's make the fight now, and Warren made him an offer he could refuse. Options. Give me your career if you win. The window closed right there and Haye said he wanted to fight for the main belts in his last fight at the weight.
So SN can't let it drop now, can they, even when they are well off the radar.
As far as I'm concerned, in British boxing you can't have it both ways. You have guys who go out of their way to make themselves the best at their weight; and you get guys who sit on WBO titles and go for big British opponents.
Haye should leave Mac to clean up cruiser. With big talents coming up out of Germany (Huck, Alexeev, Hernandez) and America (Aaron Williams and Matt Godfrey), let's see what Enzo does.
My guess is he's just going to defend a WBO belt into obscurity. Sad shame, as he is strong @ thr weight & can really fight and has a great trainer.

No - not at the moment.
If they fought now the loser's career may be irreparably damaged.
Let them go there separate ways for now and if they both enjoy continued success, perhaps they could have a big money match in four or five years time.
Macca's a decent bloke and I think he does genuinely want to fight Haye so can be forgiven for his thinly veiled frustration. He didn't say anything THAT bad.
Haye is doing the right thing by moving up to HW. The bigger body will be able to absorb a heavier blow and he will gain extra power and mobility by not being so ridiculously weight-drained.

I think you maybe suprised how easy Haye knocks a few of these big guys out! Being a heavy does not mean you can take a shot any better than a cruiser its just that your getting hit off bigger men!! Haye easily has the power of a heavy and as autobarn said some of these big guys are slow so maybe he might be more at home than you think.Autobarn wrote:some of these big guys ARE slower than shit...Captain Hook wrote:Yes, absolutely.....
And I worry about Haye at heavy, it won't be asy easy to KO 16stone plus guys..
