Could I beat Peter Buckley?

yeah must admit the couple of years that have passed since then havent helped my healing powers and that took me til the following thursday to get over.

OK, not me exactly, as I weigh about 4st more than him, but somebody like me (profile below), pound-for-pound.

A handful of club-level amateur bouts, inactive for 10 years, a bit out of condition and with no actual ambition to box competitively, but who still knows the basics and could do 4 rounds with a bit of cardio training.

My point is, the above standard of fighter should have no business beating an experienced pro like Buckley, but is he so pre-conditioned to losing/surviving now that pretty much anybody with the basics could turn up a get a W PTS 4 over him? My point is not wondering if Buckley is better than this kind of boxer (he is), but at this stage would he even realise he had a beatable opponent in front of him?

Pete Buckley would probably knock you out. No offence but he would, quite easily.

No offence taken - it's not as if I'm actually seeking to do it!

Also, by my topic, I mean no disrespect to Buckley. As a fan, I don't particularly care for contests when I KNOW, barring divine intervention, it will end in a 40-36 scoreline and NOTHING ELSE. But having said that, he has, of course, given the sport a huge service over the years and I'd be a fool not to give him the respect that deserves. I just wondered if these days he would actually TRY to win a fight if he realised it was there for him.
