Come on DANNY, will be a good feat for Danny Williams if he wins with the short notice too

I just watched the video of Sam vs. Williams - it shows that the right kind of puncher can KO Williams.

Akinwande is less dangerous a puncher than Williams, but he has a better chin. This is a good test of Platov's power, will he be able to knock Danny out?

If Danny knocks this fella out he could leap frog the rankings again, and with that Tyson win in his back pocket he will remain an entirely attractive voluntary for someone down the line.

I don't think he can beat any of the champions but he has beaten

Meehan, Tyson, Harrison, Sprott and Skelton in his career and he didn't fall over versus Klitschko.

I'd like to see him in with an opponent of some repute, standing after this. A 225 pound Williams in the right frame of mind is a competent heavyweight at virtually any level.

Of course, he could also make a lucrative living from the German circuit if he beats Platov with a plethora of German based big men in the top 50, Hoffman, Dimitrenko, Gomez, Povotkin, Valuev, Solis, Virchis....

I've never seen Oleg Platov fight, but the fact that he's a heavyweight, fighting out of Belgium, means he's probably not too good.
The real prospects from that area get snapped up by the Germans.

Looks like the German's might be showing late interest now, but probably because he's built up that shiny looking record over the last few years.

But if his chin is any good, he might be able to outpoint the lumbering Williams - unless DW is in great shape, which is a big if these days.

I'm gonna go for Williams to win this, if I take his word (risky!) he's been training since April.

- Platov was considered lucky by some to beat Akinwande. Didn't see the fight, but as good as Akinwande is, even at 41, consider McCall knocked out a younger version several years ago.

- Holyfield was considering Platov as one of his comeback opponents, which suggests Platov isn't too dangerous.

- Platov took 10 rounds to beat Colin Wilson, who's a rugged operator but a long way short of world class. For comparison, a 41-year-old Corrie Sanders beat Wilson in two rounds.

Given this form, an in-shape Danny should win.
