Calzaghe should fight Clinton Woods or Carl Froch - he would have a very hard fight against either.

Why SHOULD he fight them?

Froch is a leading contender at Super-Middleweight.

Woods is a much more credible fight, given his belt, nationality, form, weight and victory over Glengoffe Johnson.

And he poses risks too.

But I can understand Calzaghe's preference for a more 'AMERICAN' name.

Hopkins, Jones, Tarver, Pavlik, Taylor and even Wright are all bigger fights financially than the British pair.

Froch hasn't stepped up yet either, he's 12-18 months overdue at world-level in my opinion.

He needs to ice Inkin and chase Kessler. Why doesn't he chase Kessler, that may prove a more productive route.

To be honest David I can get my head around Joe's thoughts wanting an American name because he wants to make a BIG name for himself over the pond -

Next - I wouldn't be so dismissive of Froch - the man is class and could take Joe's punches but even I have to acknowledge the performance against Kessler was highly impressive - but even with that said I am positive at the very least Froch would give Joe alsorts of problems - although I do have to concede I now wonder how Froch would cope with Calzaghe's fast hands and sheer will and desire to win a fight.

With regards to Clinton - your thoughts are summed up well.

With regards to both - an all British fight with the media on side would be a massive fight for the UK of that I am positive and the winner would be an even bigger name after than what they are now if you know what I am babbling about.

Froch wouldn't be able to match Calzaghe's speed or adaptability. Whatever Froch brings, Calzaghe can answer, adapt overcome. Calzaghe turns Froch into a single shot banger.

And I'm not sure FROCH has the power to cold-cock Joe.

Calzaghe 10-2 or 9-3.

froch would ko joe and he knows it but joe doesn't want to fight somone who's getting to ther best to me he's a plum wanting to fight middleweights he should fight woods next then fight at light heavy from now on
