If what Mayweather says is true, then he was well disrespected at the press conference at Manchester town hall.

It's quite out of the ordinary for Hatton to making cut-throat gestures. I wouldn't read too much into the little altercation. It happens nearly all the time during the build-up to massive fights.

I don't think Mayweather's antics are in a malicious way, just for the cameras, media, people watching etc.

Mayweather does seem very confident, but at the same time, assures us he hasn't taken Ricky lightly. He'd be a fool if he did, because Hatton is coming to win & believes he will win. Same with Floyd in my view.

Yes I think Mayweather will be well pissed off and be up for this 1 if what hes said is true. Fans throwing bottles at him and lobbing stuff at his car. Then the winding up for Hatton. Could this bring the best out of Mayweather?

When was Mayweather really been wound up? Gatti called Mayweather a 'woman beater' and I think that pissed him off and brought the besto ut of him. Judah said he was taking away Floyd's 'ghetto pass' and that Judah was 'from the street'. Roger said 'whats he talking about we all live on a street'

Mayweather has taken no fighter lightly in his career, and it won't be starting now thats for sure.

I think it's a good sign that Hatton is up for this(he was always going to be up for this!!!)

Fights aren't usually won at the stare down(not at this level anyway, neither of these fighters will be intimidated by anything they have ever faced or will ever face in the ring)so I would'nt read too much into it.

I'm not surprised it has ended in a scuffle, just a matter of time. Pretty lame though, Mayweather trying to ignite a ruck as usual. Prick.

I don;t think Ricky is rattled, just very motivated. I don;t think he has been this motivated before, including the Tszyu fight. He raised his game there, i expect his to raise it further for this fight. He'll have to mind.

If Ricky doesn;t win its gonna cost me. Been betting all my yank mates who all of a sudden are boxing fans. At least the fight is gaining recogniton here. And 2 days before fight time. This is unheard of.

Yep noticed a real increase in public awareness for the fight over the week. Casinos in London are advertising all night deals to watch fight, ITV and BBC covering it too, which is really unusual for a boxing fight, when they aren't showing it.

No doubt it Ricky pulls off the upset, BBC will screen it next Sat.

Yes, the papers are full of it. Nice to see Boxing getting the headlines it deserves. The game has fought back from the MMA so called threat. Dont forget Mitchell v Johannsen in Jan 08.

Though, Calzaghe for me is the cream of our talent. I thought Hopkins would be a nothing fight for him, easy win etc. But it seems Yank Talk sells, especially trash talk, and if Calzaghe Hopkins could be made, it would command as many column inches as Mayweather - Hatton.

Fran k Warren has delivered Tszyu, Tyson, and Don Curry to these shores, so he is more than capable of delivering Hopkins, if BH is reasonable in his requirements.

The thing about Warren is he gets his fighters shots at the very top men.

I remember in about 1984, if Gumbs had beaten Kaylor, Warren would have got him a shot at Hagler. Amazing acheivement.

Mayweather came out holding his d*ck and mocking the crowd in Manchester. He disrespected us and had been disrespecting Ricky all week. He simply got a bit of his own medicine back and he didn't like it.

I disagree. All the football fans were out giving him a bit of stick which is fair enough but then the atmosphere seemed to turn a bit nasty, with what looked to have been bottles thrown.

like i say like floyd or hate him, that's yourt choice but you will have an opinion on him which can only be good for boxing. I mean look at the popularity of ricky at the moment in this country. When was the last time you seen a fight build up like this involving a british fighter? There are pages dedicated to this fight in every paper and tv station. Lets face it that is because of mayweather, dispite ricky's popularity. When he thought tszyu there wasn't this much media attention or If he were fighting cotto or even Oscar, it would not be as big as it is. Why because of mayweathers character, his brashness and flashness and the fact that he is P4P king has been the major reason that this fight build-up has been such a success.

I love both these boxers for what they have achieved in the ring. I have been following them for many years now and not once have either of them turned me off by how they come across to the media.

I don't particularly like the Football fan mentality that seems to follow British boxing these days to be honest.

How on earth can you enjoy a fight when slaughtered?

Many a fight I have been to, usually the bigger fights, I have been stuck next to a group of proper half-wits, off their face chanting nonsense and not actually watching any of the fights taking place!
It seem's as if they turn up because by attending such an event reflects well on them(boxers are hard, boxing is very hard maybe these so called "fans" see some reflected "hardness" in attending certain fights )

Of course, not all British boxing fans are like this, but there is tidy percentage.

And let's not talk about old Allegedly here.
He has screwed Calzaghe's career up somewhat(that man should have retired 2 years ago, having fought the likes of Roy Jones and Hopkins YEARS ago, and having countless millions in the bank with not one single person doubting his talent or legacy)

Hatton/Mayweather is bigger and better than anything Fwanky could dream of putting on

I watched Buncey's Inside Sport thing the other day, brilliant. I love Buncey's Indiana Jones meets Lock Stock stories.

He's always, always looking for someone. Great dramatic telly with the big man walking about, I loved also loved how he tried to speak to the guy locking the gym up in a cross between an American accent and a 'I'll speak like I'm speaking to a deaf child', that's bound to help me be understood.

I love Buncey by the way. It wouldn't be the same without his input to these shows.

Yeah agree, Calazghe is the best Brit fighter I've ever seen. Noticed Floyd said the other day, Joe is the best fighter he's ever seen, though I assume he meant British fighter ( mind you, he's probably only seen two )
