I get as frustrated with anyone with Mundine, but to say he "chickened out" against Hamden ever is simply laughable.

Hamdan has never been, and never will be in Choc's class. A total different class and quality of fighter. Not to mention naturally 10-15 pounds lighter.

Sure, Hamdan had a go and at times was fun to watch, but he was overly protected by his management for a good reason - a very limited fighter - at his best or not.

When did Sugar Ray Robinson fight Kid Gavilan? Gavilan fought Bobo Olson for the vacant title after one of Sugar Ray's retirements, losing on a majority decision, but I don't know about Robinson and Gavilan fighting each other. You are not confusing Gavilan with Carmen Basilio are you? That was no charity fight! Robinson had lost the middleweight title to Basilio and had to win it back of him. Gavilan was five years younger than Robinson.

Bollox has got his time line or fighters mixed up. Robinson fought Gavilan twice at 147.

I was wondering about that. I only looked at page 1 of Sugar Ray's record which covered the time from his loss to Turpin. Gavilan was still a force well into the 50s.
