I like Junior Witter - a really nice bloke - don't understand why anyone would dislike him.
But lets get down to fighters I have a tadge of dislike for:
Fighters that fight for a certain promoter - sorry its extremely childish but just the way it is - most of them I talk to who come to other promoters shows I get on fine with - have to say though one of them who I gave an awful amount of stick to - Enzo Maccarinelli is bloody hilarious and a good person to have a talk to.
Actual individual boxers - Naseem and his team that came along with him - met them at Ricky's fight with Maussa - have to say did not like dealing with them at all.
Have to say a fighter that Fight Academy recently signed - me and him have a bit of "banter" history between us - going to be interesting when I am working for Fight Academy again - Mr Audley Harrison himself.
But the person who I simply could never get any sense out of who was alright if you understood him was Chris Eubank.

Naz was just a funny get.
He knew how to get tickets. As much as i found some of his little stunts to be too much, he could fight, and he could entertain.
Khan seems like a Nice Chap,

I dont like any Boxer who is just Words.
Trash Talk is ok, i mean its standard, almost expected (as long as its not too extreme).
But Boxers who tend to be racist and just Idiotic for no reason, just simple to think their Cool. i seriously think they got issues
For Example, Mayweather, Naz and Tyson (not all English, but you know what i mean) Talked a lot and said alot, but they were doing it for Attraction to get the £.
Some people, like Alan Minter, tend to be jerks for the sake of it

Easily Minter. Hamed and Eubank began in roughly the same position, but only Chris went on to become liked. Derry Matthews is hated more for his style I think; can't say I've seen many interviews with him. Calzaghe doesn't count. The problem with Joe is his record in the public's eyes; too few mainstream victories.
Hatton might become increasingly out-of-favour over the coming years. Depends on how he conducts himself; there's little room for any more big talk. The Harrisons, although - again, Scott isn't eligible (ditto Arthur). Small, Mitchell and Khan are names many here wouldn't have to reach too far to find.
As for Witter, I agree with Ben. Can't see the reasoning myself.

ummmm no mate, Benn an Eubank could both individually sell tickets and draw TV ratings
Witter can do neither
This whole Witter - Hatton thing is a classic case of typical British boxing thinking, navel and insular

1) Alan Minter - Racist idiot - I was so glad when Hagler destroyed him that night.
2) Audley Harrison - Pathetic & spineless, with no stamina or punch power.
Promised to be British champ within 5 fiights, but took 3 years to have 5 fights, against cruiserweight nightclub bouncers & didn't even look good beating them.
Finally steps up in class, only to be petrified of a Danny Williams who weighed more than an ocean liner!
Truly pathetic & an embarrassment to boxing.

Can't believe Arnie Farnell is in your list - one of the very best!!harrygreb wrote:hamed

farnell - although i'm prepared to listen to opposing opinions
hide
hate is perhaps too strong a word, just enjoyed seeing them get a well deserved clump
Herbie is also alright in his own way - misunderstood is probably the best way of wording it - Remember going for an evening walk with him, Eddie Mustapha Muhammed and Mike McCallum - a thoroughly entertaining hour that was - but there again I do remember Herbie racking up some sizable phone bills at the hotels!!!

I have to say that I have Farnell in my list too
I also have to admit that this is not down to ever having met the guy, he could well be a top bloke. But, his ring persona and post fight persona got on my gonads
The fight against Rueben Groenwald (sp?) on the Hatton/MaGee bill was the perfect example. He bangs in as many shots to the toilet trade with impunity and a house referee to allow him to get away with it. The moment RG slaps him one back he was all over the shop like he had been hit like a sniper.
I was sitting next to RG's brother during the fight and we both thought it would be a homer, but, when it actually came in for the proper result you ended up with the usual post fight tears.
As I said not based on anything but ring and TV persona, so I am more than prepared to hear more positive views
Oh, not keen on Kevin Mitchell either. Perhaps one day he will pick on someone his own size

Farnell was a snarling, arrogant git in the ring and in the build-ups but by all accounts he's a decent bloke and a family man.
This isn't ballroom fecking dancing we're talking about on here...
Anthony Small is a complete tool. Takaloo is past his best (and his best wasn't that great) but I hope he pastes Small....

Come on matey, I'll accept that Witter isn't a major draw in his own right unlike Eubank and Benn but I'm confident that a Hatton vs Witter fight would do extremely well at the gate and draw big viewing figures on the telly.Khaosai-Galaxy wrote:Ben Carey wrote: tried everything he could to entice Hatton into the ring to make what would have been the biggest fight in Britain since Eubank-Benn but has .

I remember seeing Georgie Smith fight a few years back and he was giving it so much attitude and got on my t1ts. I can put up with a certain amount of talk if it is backed up - Naz for example.
By and large though I prefer people to do their talking with their fists. Give me the unshakeable confidence of Holyfield prior to Tyson 1 over the big-headed rantings of Small any day.

I remember sh*tting myself when Michael Brodie was fighting in Manchester - I was at the "Weigh In" - Mr Farnell gave me his thoughts about what I had been writing on these forums about him - have to say he was RIGHT to do so - a bit like Enzo Maccarinelli at Woods/Gonzalez 2 -but there again shook hands with both of them.
Farnell sends shit and I mean shit jokes by text - very few make me laugh although I did like the one about the old lady and vacum salesman - but even those sh*t jokes have dried up - I WANT MORE!!!
Have to say he has got a lovely mrs - I could tell she fancied me more than Farnell but alas she had made her choice!!!
Merry Xmas Arnie - I know you will be p*ssing yourself being named on here!!!
