Joe said In his book the New York Italian area Is perfect If you names Calzaghe.
There is no big American Italian community any longer in New York. What used to be Little Italy has long been swallowed by Chinatown. However, MSG is a couple of miles north of both.
All thats left of Little Italy is Mulberry Street nowadays

Calzaghe Vs Hopkins

Post by Sjhndz_75 »

If the fight ever takes place wouldnt it make $$$$ense for the fight to take place in Wales. JC can get 50,000 + to fill the seats. Hopkins couldn't fill that many seats if he fought 4 fights in a year.

I think they can make more $$ in the UK than fighting in Yankee Stadium which I can't see happening. Hopkins doesnt have that kind of drawing power like JC does in his hometown.

And it's actually worth more in Vegas as:

a) HBO offer more money to have it at a better time in the US (comparing this to Wales only)
b) The Promoter(s), Sponsors and TV service can offer better "hospitality"
c) The Casino's pay stupid amounts of money, as it increases Casino floor traffic. Rumour is the MGM paid tens of millions for the Hatton/Mayweather purse.
d) The merchanidising stands are then open outside the venue, for days on end, so have more exposure to punters (programs sold out on Friday for Hatton v Mayweather at the stand I went to).

What's the source fella? Only thing I've seen that implies it's on is a report on fightviews.com regarding Hopkins visiting Sultan's camp for the fight with Klitschko and inviting him to his fight against Calzaghe later in the year.
Only British press, but Times did report it and they're usually spot on.

Suprised no-one has mentioned Atlantic City.
No source but no way it can happen at Yankee stadium. It is not a big enough fight. The place would be 80% empty.

Also Golden Boy are pretty much exclusive Las Vegas for major fights

Tens of Millions? I doubt the Casino would have paid that much.
