Why do people keep mentioned boxers who have never actually fought on the cobbles?

Could be the same guy Terry - he was supposedly 6'6" (though his height could have been exaggerated) and he was staying at the Honeypot Lane Site in Darlo.

Benn also said in an interview that his Brother was the local hardman when they were growing up and no-one could come close. Think his Brother died though.

kelly oliver was/is a tough lad ''on the cobbles''
he won two street fights with one of man utd's main lads, as well as long list of local match-ups.
new pro kev hammond has a rep too. he knocked cruiserweight tony dowling out with a single punch outside a nightclub a few years ago. dowling is now his trainer!

Although form what Ive seen some are often very much "pub brawler" types that I'd expect any half decent box-fighter with a dig to be able to counter / knock out fairly handily.

I know, thats why I mentioned him. But I think others are confused as there a load of boxers been mentioned who have never faught bare knuckle.

I would have thought he must have done some 'cobbles' fights if that is true..

Surely noone stands a chance in a bareknuckle fight with WHarton?
(Outside of similar world class ex-fighters.)
Great chin, great punch...might struggle against movers in the boxing ring, but bareknuckle is a different story.
You'd have to be insane to fight him however big you are.
He used to box at 12 st in the pros, I feel certain he's probably about 15 stone now as well.
