Fair point.

Going back to K1; I really enjoyed watching the Grand Prix when I was in Japan. That's when I first became aware of Hong-Man Choi; he was fighting Bob Sapp (big in Japan) in the quarter or semi-final and it was front page news and on terrestrial TV. It was a pretty poor fight but I couldn't believe how SMALL Sapp looked! But that fight aside, I enjoyed most of the rest of it. It would probably be my number 2 sport if it was broadcast here.

I enjoy watching K1, boxing can learn from K1 that matching the best fighters on a consistent basis brings in the punters and generates interest.

Hong Man Choi isn't built for K1 as he is slow and not a natural boxer but he isn't as bad as people over here make out. Choi beat Semmy Schilt who is reckoned to be the best K1 fighter and I like watching Choi fight though my favourite fighters are Sugar Ray Sefo, Mark Hunt, Mighty Mo and Glaube Feitosa.

For some reason the Dutch have a stranglehold on the K1 title! It is always a Dutchman in the finals and it is always a Dutchman who wins!

Interesting also that the crowds will turn out in their tens of thousands to K1 in Japan and Korea despite the sport being populated almost completely by foreigners. Can't see that happening here.
