It's all coming good for Froch. By and large, he's done it the right way and proved treading the traditional route can still work.

Should he beat Inkin, which is a tough one, he'll have well earned his world title shot.

Everyone remembers the letter to 'Team Kessler' from Calzaghe saying that he was only interested in big HBO fights from now on and that belts meant nothing to him.... then the choices dry up and he fights Kessler after everyone had screamed for it for months. I must admit that the undercard was as poor as i have ever seen in my life. Squeezing every penny...

Calzaghe v Hopkins ain't a fight i'm bothered about being completely honest. I will watch don't get me wrong, but can't say the timing has been great has it? all a bit late in the day and even Joe is saying Hopkins is just a name and a payday. Happening far too late now.

Macc-Haye is another fight that nearly hit the skids because of Warren - it wasn't until Haye held all the cards that Warren relented and put the fight on. He trashed haye in the papers. "I'll quit boxing if Haye beats Enzo" he promised.

Whilst we're discussing the whole SN thing on a Froch thread - i heard that there was a bid in for the Froch fight and even a date booked at Nottingham arena by a certain promoter - but Hennessy did the deal beforehand... same for Adamu and same for Robin Reid...

Considering how much stick he gives him in the paper, you have to laugh at his eagerness.

Soon his stable will have dried up and then what ?

Thats why they are crapping it that someone with a few KO's on their record might catch Amir clean... hence their reluctance at putting him in with anyone too lively.

Remember it's a business to some and these are assets we are talking about...cash cows.

Bonafide opponents like John Murray and Thaxton are too tasty for Amir this year.

Maybe Amir will shine against them... but his handler's won't take the risk.

Amir's on the sub's bench ready for when Calzaghe comes off... if you play both strikers together and one gets crocked your club is in serious jeopardy

I don't think this is as cut and dried as it first appears. Yes Inkin has a questionable chin but he is a smart boxer and carries a bit of a dig. The combination he finished Veit with was world class and Froch is prone to lazy spells. Inkin can make it interesting by boxing and moving behind a tight guard, snapping flurries and getting out again. He isn't undefeated for nothing and i hope Froch isn't expecting to land and then good night nurse!

Froch by TKO 9 for my money but with a couple of interesting moments along the way.

Hmm don't think Warren's talent pool is drying up any time soon.

Froch seems to have the chin to go with his style although Im yet to see him hit real clean. Realy looking forward to this fight though.

Its a long time since they fought as amateurs, and Inkin got the win. Both fighters have had a lot of experiance in the pro ranks since, and both have perfect records as pros. Inkin though, has more experiance and has fought better fighters IMO than Froch. This is a true test for Froch and promises to be his hardest fight. I wouldnt bet on Froch for this one.

I'm supprised Froch isn't better known he's a successful british boxer who used to be on terrestrial TV and who talks a good fight.

Froch may not be a household name yet, but he regularly draws 6,000 or 7,000 fans when he fights in Nottingham which is quite a lot when you consider he's only fought in British and Commonwealth title fights so far.

True but he also has a possible world title shot... thats godda be worth an apperance on Jonathon Ross.

If his fight with Inkin is made for the WBC title and was shown on the BBC, ITV or maybe even Setanta at a peak time, I think he would be on a lot more chat shows.

Is this fight definitely happening? I mean, Universum aren't going to pull Inkin out are they?

I still find it strange why the fight is scheduled for a Saturday, Froch is a Sky fighter and their fights are broadcast on Fridays.

Carl Froch is set to do battle again at Nottingham Arena on Saturday 29th March 2008.

The WBC super-middleweight world title final eliminator will see ‘The Cobra’ take on the unbeaten and highly-ranked Russian Denis Inkin.

The Arena has become Froch’s home venue over the last few years and this fight is being broadcast live on ITV1.

British champion and WBC number one challenger, Froch is undefeated in 22 fights and has won 18 by way of knockout. WBC international champion, Inkin is also undefeated in 32 fights and has won 24 by knockout.

The winner of the contest will be mandatory challenger to Joe Calzaghe for the WBC world super-middleweight crown.
