hard to score...eddie lands the stronger shots..but POV is pushing more!

C's best round. Still threw less than P, but connected with the better punches. 29-27

2-2 at the moment for me, if only chambers had some power he would of hurt povetkin.

This isn't in the script...Povetkin is supposed to be running away with it by now!

Chambers seems to take the Russian's shots better than the Russian takes his at the mo..pretty even, Yank looked the boss in the 3rd, then Russian came back with a good 4th round.

Looks vunerable when Chambers lands that right hand, but up for grabs at moment..

P's trainer certainly not happy!!

Russian takes 6th impressively, really hitting his stride now, but Chambers is still dangerous and it's about even still.

I think P is running away with it know. C very static and tired (unless he's taking a breather)

Chambers is landing at will in the 9th. I thought he cruised it, still up for grabs, think povetkin is a couple of rounds ahead but chambers might sneak it.

Agreed, we was taking a breather in the 6th and 7th. Still 3 behind though

Whatever the result don't think HBO will be too impressed with Povetkin i think they were hoping he would win impressively. gave the 10th to povetkin

so did I . have it 7-3 now, but anyone with a counterpunch right cross will have him for breakfast

11th as well. Chambers seems to of faded and not doing anything.

Good fight, 12th went to povetkin. Chambers threw away the fight for me for not doing anything late in the fight. Povetkin got hit with lots of bombs but Chambers didnt have any power to hurt him. Think the score cards will be around the 117-111 mark.

only if ppl went in with false epectations. i mean there was no reason to think Pov would knock him out or totally dominate. Pov's the heir apparent IMO but Chambers is a tricky bugger who doesn't make anyone look good. What a great learning fight for Povetkin.

Enjoyable fight. I had in 117-111, but C had his moments in the earlier rounds. Wish P would through a few more combinations though

If Chambers had the same determination as Povetkin, he'd have won it handily. An impressive fighter when he strings together those punches - good defence and solid chin as well, just lacking the desire a bit in there.

Povetkin looked very surprised when Chambers caught him with solid punches repeatedly, early on. He doesn't disguise it when he's been hurt too well, stops punches and steps back & looks worried - Wlad will eat him up with the big right hand you'd think.

Still, both are possibly good enough to beat the other title holders out there, Wlad apart - the division is THAT bad.

on that showing wladimir would KO povetkin !!

I disagree. If Chambers did more work, Chambers would have been more tired, and he would also have given Povetkin more openings. Good poised work from Povetkin. I've been sold on him since he was supposed to be fighting Monte Barrett & he's made a superb progression against tricky opponents.

Povetkin probably just beat the best pure boxer in the division. Showed some nice ring generalship & beat a guy whose shots are hard to read. IMOo he can beat Chagaev and Ibragimov right now.

Also, Povetkin's body punching was consistent and this surely wore down the somewhat fleshy American.

Reckon he should fight a big bloke before going for Klitschko though.

Well I was also going to add that Fat Eddie would've won if he'd have had the same fitness at Pov as well, but gave him the benefit of the doubt, as his dad looks a hard taskmaster & he must've been in shape to last 12 hard rounds like he did.
Could be he's just got that Witherspoon type shape: the fat looking bloke who outlasted body beaut Frank Bruno.

Think Chambers is really a cruiserweight. Fast hands, classy skills but he's bogged down by that weight. I reckon that's why he can be so economical. IMO he gave a good account of himself but he could wind up really letting himself go and becoming a fat git for hire. Hope to see him drop down to cruiser now and win a title - he's more than capable of doing this. Gave Povetkin a good fight, looked better than any of the recent challengers for actual title belts, but he should make the right career move while he can.

I haven't seen him fight but just looking at pictures of me stops me getting excited about him.

I enjoyed Povetkin's boxing. This is what boxing is all about. Competitive fights where 2 skilled men try and figure each other out. I think Alexander will be the last man standing at heavyweight. Let Wladimir K goe through some unifications and let's see what he has left when Povetkin comes calling. I'd like to see Povetkin fight a big opponent, or at least one with a big punch. He's not the finished article but he learns something from each fight. His comments that, "I will have to work on myself a lot if I'm going to fight Klitschko" then are not a bad omen, but rather something that makes this ring mechanic dangerous, as I see it.

I'll be getting the Chambers fight on DVD soon. I have all Povetkin's other fights bar one on DVD. Anyone interested in buying PM me. His development has been quite excellent since turning pro around '05.
