I think it was a great shame that Joe didn't go to germany and his legacy will forever be tainted in my eyes because of that.

Now hes willing to travel to America to fight Hopscotch because Hopscotch is 43!!

I agree(though im sure Ottke would have taken the fight with home advantage) the point being that Ottke would have been competetive enough for the judges to maybe be generous, he would have troubled Joe..and tbh, a im not sure how Joes flurries would have trouble Ottke that much, as you said he was slippery, this was a close fight

He isnt some bum like hes being painted in some quaters

I could see Ottke getting a dubious decision, without actually landing anything much on Calzaghe, just by wheeling away in circles flicking his jab.

Absolutely right.....fornicating hell, Hopkins in five years is a better fighter than Ottke ever was. Were we watching the same guy?

Reid boxed his head off years ago, and that was years after Joe had beaten Reid. JC has since beaten Lacy, Kessler and every other man put in front of him and in your eyes his legacy is tainted because he didn't fight Ottke?! Do me a favour....

on his day michalczewski could be a beast of a fighter. ottke was never a fighter by any stretch of the imagination. i honestly don't know what kind of crack people are smoking when they talk about Ottke's 'defensive prowess' and 'skills'. If elbowing, headbutting, leaning, holding and whinging is your cup of tea, then each to their own i guess.

Guy had no technique, would flap at his opponent, slapping and waltz backwards, walk in and hold, complain to the ref, then spend the last three rounds running backwards around the ring. If that's what is meant by 'he was good at he did', then yes he was.

I despised some of the decisions and the Reid farce was a disgrace but as Stu mentions, Ottke in his prime was better than you lot give him credit for.

But anyway...what is it with ill advised German comebacks? Maske, Schulz, Rocchigiani and now Ottke. I know they are desperate for homegrown talent but this is getting ridiculous.
