That's absolute bollocks. He didn't look at all scared, nor fragile, nor clueless. He was fighting to win and to learn, both of which he did. He looked focused, more than anything.

why was Khan doing so much backpeddling then ?

Call it what you will. He was keeping a good distance between himself and St. Clair because that's where he had an advantage. His team knew how to win it, and that's how Khan played it. 'Nuff said.

umm he had longer reach and for st.clair to attack he needed to come inside forcing amir to fight on the inside thus losing his advantage....and why would Ak allow that to happen if he could help it? He needed to stay outside and pick him off which he did.. Was not a brilliant/sparkling performance by any measure but he showed maturity, and fought to his and his corner's plan obviously..

Are you serious??
He won his Opponent 120-108....
towards the end all he had to do was outbox him, since all Claire would be looking for is the One/Two Haymaker/s.
Sorry he never gave you a rocky 7 performance, but thats boxing

Amir was fighting a midget
Amir is very good at darting in and out of the danger zone
khan was in the Ring with a fighter of 5ft4, i would expect Khan to stay in the pocket<Amir does not have a clue how to lean back from punches and counter with sharp crisp shots against a fighter of 5ft 4,thats tells us something
Khan was backpeddling and running
you can not claim to dominate a fight if you use the full ring to circle

Two words need shouting at Khan. Jon Thaxton.
a) Amir would smash his head in.
b) he said he will fight him after he tries his chances on the World Championship fights, which is why everyone is saying he is rushing.
He was a little on the Retreat on the latter rounds, but i think this was mainly due to the fact he knew he had the game in the bag, and the only way he could lose was if was from KO.
if you want to see random action, i suggest go watch MMA or something... This is Boxing not some Street Fight.
Amir won 120 - 108, its his 16 fight, and he has a LOT yet to learn. There will be Mistakes coming from Newish Fighters all the time. Even the experience fighters make mistakes.. Cut him some Slack..
you can not claim to dominate a fight if you use the full ring to circle
you can if you win the Match 120 - 108 and have your opponent Bleeding from the Mouth and Nose, and with no chance to win the game.
like i said, its early days

Im really not surprised ITV is almost cutting Boxing... THe Boxing "Fans" here seem to do a pretty good job Supporting the sport and Talent

You obviously have some personal issue with him.
He put on a polished performance against a former champ, albeit a weight lower.
He won every round, his stamina was good and he was the aggressor.
Go back and watch it again and then come back with a more rounded opinion.

Why on earth would you give away you advantage, the thing that was winning you the fight????
Lennox didnt stand in the pocket against the midget Tyson,,,Maybe Amir should just stand with his arms by his side in his next fight.

Lennox WAS NOT running from Tyson,Lewis was stalking Tyson and throwing sharp counters in the Zone
Lennox was not using the full ring to circle and running about the ring hitting Tysons gloves like Khan was doing,Khans corner in the ST Clair fight were telling Khan to run,its all on the tape
btw
This thread is not about atheism or the NWO

Yes but Lewis was not standing in the pocket..like you said against a midget no-less.Its called distance and timing my goodfellow all very important nowadays.
You need to watch the Khan tape again because i saw Khan working oppenings againt an opponant who kept coming forward behind a very high guard...and when Khan did get inside(and he did) he unloaded fast accurate counters.

Khan never landed a clean shot all night long,Khan was darting in and out of the Zone and backpeddling,i see this fight just like the last 3 rounds of Oscar/Tito,ie.. a complete farce
I hope i am being clear enough for you
To think the British public are fed this and David Haye is unknown
something to think about ?

So what if it turns out that he's not the next Sugar Ray Leonard? Khan's seldom in a dull match and he's also one of the main reasons that boxing has enjoyed such a boom on ITV in recent years.
Enjoy it whilst it's here.
Good post - The only thing I would disagree on is your comment that Khan is one of the main reasons that boxing has enjoyed such a boom on ITV in recent years. Khan
is the reason. Khan is the reason we have boxing on ITV and Warren is the reason why it was cut back. Having said that MH and Carl Froch are getting a chance to prove themselves which is brilliant.

Every fighter Khan meets will be different so tactics have to be altered according to the different styles - It makes sense, and Khan seems to be progressing by adapting to the style of his opponent - Not everyone is like Ricky Hatton, same thing every time - Khan for me is doing well, by fighting the right fight, each time we see him - Still not sure if he is world class and I really dont see us finding that out in 2008, not if FW has anything to do with it - As for Khan and his doubtful chin - What doubtful chin, Limond dropped him with a temple shot!!!

No offence mate but you either have an issue with Khan or have no idea how to read a fight. Khan was pretty much flawless.
He is still learning, he is still young. He has fought quality opposition in his last three fights and shown positives in them all, even in the way he reacted to the Limond situation. He was looking for openings, calm and showed good stamina.
We know he can go in and blow guys out but this was a learning exercise, like Harrison v Francis. Only difference being the chasm in quality and potential. Give the guy a break!

( i can not take you seriously captain hook)
I say Khan is only given such media Hype because he is a Pakistan Muslim, the media controllers are hyping Khan because of the genocide in the Iraq war,Khan is a chinny backpeddler
David Haye, even Carl Froch have had better fights,if you know boxing you can not argue with this

So you're racist then? Or just ignorant.......a chinny backpeddler?
I take the fact you can't take me seriously as a compliment.
Would you say Haye is chinny as well, having been knocked out?
Pass him the banjo.

Amir Khan is a media darling isnt he ?
David Haye is NO1 in his division
Sure, Haye lost against Carl Thompson in his 11th fight, but that loss is worth more than Khans backpedding victories,if you disagree with that you dont understand boxing M8

I admit Haye learned a lot in losing to Carl, but you give Khan no credit at all.
And like others on here, when a debate arises you resort to: "U knw nuffink abt bocsing mate"
We'll agree to differ.

It's not because of his heritage or religion. It's because of multiple factors. Olympic success, turning pro, allegedly promoting, good looking, likeable, fun to watch, etc.
No doubt he has many more Muslim fans that he would if he was Christian (as in, he is representing a minority in England), but that is not the reason why he is successful.
Lastly, the Iraqi war, I think, has absolutely nothing to do with Amir Khan's career.
