It's the constant reference towards World Titles that gets to me. He is fighting either shot fighters or people with no possible advantage over him at all. Thats fine for him as a young fighter.

He has great talents, but is going to waste them by being unprepared when he finally fights someone with a chance of beating him.

If he finds a world champion who is naturally a stone lighter, 6 inches shorter than him with a reach like a T Rex and who hasn't KO'd anyone in his last 73 fights, he's laughing.

Rawlings whole "don't make a cuppa tea...don't blink...unadulterated excitement" introduction was very cringeworthy
The whole commentary was cringe worthy, why do Duke and Rawling constantly blab, blab, blab the obvious to the viewer over and over again, most of it inane gibberish. FFS shut up every now and then, we can see what’s going on, and it’s not the radio for fecks sake.
I don’t know about anyone else, but listening to them drone on and on and on for the whole 12 rounds was winding me up and spoiling my enjoyment of a good fight.

Nobbody said he was a Top Performer...

But its Amir's 16th Fight, and he is an excellent opponent at that stage...

Much better than a lot of the other "greats" have have their records Padded for the first 30 or so fights..

---

seriously, some of you will not be happy until he fights someone like Ibramigov for the heavyweight title... even then, there will be some reason that Khan did something wrong and Warren is an idiot etc.

Obviously the term "fight" should be used loosely. "Resistance" is probably more apt. Freiheit should correct me as I havn't even seen the Dane fight, but I have (or had) the feeling that Kristjansen would have been Khan's Veit.

boxerbob wrote:so st clair was a legit world class fighter???.....no..a fringe fighter outside the top 10 in the super-featherweight division.

he is 5,4 vs a 5,10...5,11 fighter in khan

basically it was a very safe fight for warren as st clair was smaller and had no chance of reaching khan

frank why cant you get a genuine lightweight to fight khan???...oh there thaxton but you want nothing to do with him as he has a punch and khan aint got a chin.

saturdays nights fight was a sparring session..rawling and mckenzie are so on the payroll as they described khans performance as amazing ffs.

khan is a decent fighter who will lose to the 1st decent world class fighter he faces...why???....he is being matched against guys who are much smaller than him , have no punch and men who are way past thier prime.

limond nearly ended khan.....dias or katsidas will ko khan in less than 5 rounds.......thaxton would do the same.

ps: amir , please go and get a real corner team who will improve your ability , and please get yourself a new manager / promoter who will get you the fights that test you.

ask hamed and hatton about warrens bum of the month contenders...thats why they left him
You would have Warren put Khan in with Klitschko.

Why do you hate Warren.

If he was out of boxing, there would be no boxing worth following.

Back the fella, he has brought boxing back to the mainstream.

If you hate Warren you hate boxing.

Khan hasn't fought a half decent genuine lightweight yet. Some people will mention Earl. His management knew he was finished. His interview before the fight painted a picture. He was like a zombie ffs.

St Clair has been Khans most decent opponent in 16 fights. He's a featherweight with no power. How can you possible say he was a good opponent?

16 pro fights is a lot of fights without fighting one half decent guy in your own weight division. Considering Khans amateur career.

The main reason I'm saying St Clair was a poor choice is mainly among other things is that Khan says he'll be World Champ at the end of the year. IMO, if he was on target for his own goal. The fight he had against St Clair should have been made 5 fights ago if at all.

Khans going to have to push himself pretty hard if he wants to be World Champ by the end of the year. It's really unrealistic for the speed of Khans progression. People would be less pissed off at Khan if he said he wanted to be a World Champion by the end of 2009. Then the St Clair fight he just had wouldn't look as bad in that time scale.

I can't see how anyone can get excited about Amir Khan yet. He hasn't done anything. When he starts to beat some decent lightweights then we can all call him a future prospect. *cough Thaxton cough*

This is like when everyone was jumping on the Harrison bandwagon. Look what happened to him.

You can't call anyone a prospect until they actually beat people who are pretty good. Which Khan hasn't done yet.

Exxodus, your previous posts are jammed pack with negativity towards Khan. And here you said Khan would lose against Earl:

You didn't say Earl was shot before the fight happened.

I heard the rumors about Earl's management. The rumors that Earl was punch drunk. I trusted the medical board that gave him the all clear fight. After I watched his interview he had with ITV and more rumors from an inside source. I was too busy laying the money I put on Earl off on betfair. I still lost money as Earl when out in price half hour before the fight.

You can't come up with anything about my previous post so you have to read through my post history to try and come up with something. Please try better next time.

I just can’t see how anyone can call Khan a prospect when he hasn’t done anything yet.

If Khan gets into the ring with Thaxton and wins. I will then consider Khan a prospect.

Look at ITV. They have no confidence in Khan. That’s why it looks like there going to drop boxing in the summer. I think they know Khan won’t be fighting for a world title this year. That’s why they don't want to renew the contract. Why wouldn't ITV extend the contract by 6 months if they thought Khan will be fighting for a world title by the end of this year? They know something we don’t, that’s why.

I'm not quite sure, but I think the Contract Seems to be ending, and it appears Khan may be Going to Setanta...

Top of that, ITV only have 1 Boxer; Amir Khan, nobody else. Boxers don't fight every week.

Thanks Boxing Experts, Criticize the Young Lad more why don;t you, at this rate Boxing is going to end even on Sky Sports.

So they have to invest in something else.

I'm a fan of Khans. the lad is a good role model for young kids
For overtaking cars stopped at a red light, then ploughing into pedestrians?
Yes true, but what young kid hasn't made a mistake, I don't know anyone who hasn't done something when young .

He's not out boozing or scrapping in the streets.

No, actually. I saw your first paragraph about Earl and decided to see if you had said anything about that fight before it happened, and you had. I didn't even bother to read the rest of your post because it's all a bunch of negative tripe.
