Greg Nicholas wrote:And how is Hopkins a greater fighter than Calzaghe, anyway..? For beating blown-up past-best Felix Trinidad and drained-out old man (who lost to a near-dead RJJR and Glen Johnson, and even in his physical prime to Eric Harding) Antonio Tarver..? Or for beating former super-featherweight champion ODLH? Richie at his best is better than Keith Holmes, Howard Eastman, William Joppy.. Eubank at his worst is leagues better than all of Hopkins's middleweight opponents bar RJJR.. Charles Brewer beat up Antwun Echols and was robbed in that fight and that guy gave Hopkins his toughest fights.. Mikkel Kessler was no slouch.. what makes Hopkins so so great..?
20 middleweight defences over 10 years? Hopkins is a great fighter, a brilliant technician who is ultra-tough. His ledger is better than Calzaghes; a close fight against RJJ, wins over Tarver, Wright, DLH and Trinidad. His best wins have come at an advanced age as well, the guy is a genetic freak

hopkins, to be still able to mix with world class fighters at his age is amazing in itself, he's changed his game over the years and had to adapt his style to account for age but thats what the good fighters do, MAB did the same and added longevity to his career by adapting.
I think calzaghe will win in april but I see it being his toughest or one of his toughest fights. Cal on points 7-5 rounds, it'l be ugly too imo

He didn't even look like a good world champion against Mercado twice,Echols twice,Taylor twice and Eastman, let alone a 'legend'.
