Sorry to be a pedant Stu, but that's not to say he's avoiding him. Just that he isn't fighting him next, which his management have already confirmed and quoted on the BBC SPORT article I posted.

If someone could dig out the BBN link, I'd like a butchers.

Oliver, pay the tax :TU:
Mr Hook, as someone also in the newspaper business, you know what I said about PA and Reuters is true.
Absolutely, but is it definitely from them? A quote would have been nice though mate, we love a good quote :D

Can we leave Witter alone for a bit now, it's really boring....he's not worth the effort lads. Let's talk about the pedestrianisation of Norwich city centre.
If you hate the subject so much, why do you keep commenting on it?

I find the Witter-Hatton subject really interesting and I think as many people as possible should be aware of it, however I find Ricky Hattons avoidance of Junior intensely boring.

I'll make a deal, I'll stop writing about this avoidance situation if Ricky fights Junior Witter

Sorry, I misread your original post saying ASAP, I'm looking forward to this article

Cheers Terry

It's the same bullshit answer from the same Hatton haters. Fight witter, Witter, Witter, Witter blah blah - he's a dullard and he needs Hatton a damn sight more than Hatton needs him.

I've never profesed to be a Hatton lover but i'm not going to complain bitterly about the guy not facing Junior bloody Witter when he's just fought Castillo and Mayweather. Simple.

Are you all going to fill the stadium for Witter's next fight if it's over here? Or are you going to fill the forums with this drivel then avoid it?

What about the ITV, Khan and Hennessy rumour that has been spread?

Hennessy promotes and manages Khan in name only to remain on ITV and picks up a cheap and more affordable (for ITV) TV contract for his other fighters like Witter, Froch and Barker?

Witters small following is not a valid reason for Hatton to avoid him IMO, Eubank was pretty much unknown with a small following before Benn fought him. The difference being Benn is a warrior who wouldn't have ducked anyone let alone his fellow British arch-rival

No, but you turn up on every Hatton-Witter post and say how bored of it you are. But if you're so bored of the subject, why do you keep reading the threads?

It's not an excuse, I agree. But where has all this Witter love come from?
It seems to be rife in the forums but when it comes to getting bums on seats he is one of our most unattractive propositions?

Good fighter, I agree. But so is Ricky Hatton. To many on here he seems to be nothing short of a bum. Rubbish record, terrible attitude, battered by Floyd, disrespected.

Anyone know why? You're right, I'll not comment on this subject again, it's too frustrating.

Hennessy is hardly endearing himself to Khan is he slags him of, via Thaxton, at every opportunity.

I hear Hennessy is on his last legs, financially speaking, his pin-striped City backers are getting cold feet and want out. Hope that's not true as he's not bad at what he does and in the league he operates. ITV only picked up the fight on the cheap as Sky wouldn't pay decent money for it. Hennessy sold them some line that it will be an interim title. It won't be and it's final eliminator status is doubtful too. Rumour is winner has to fight again for mandatory position.

As for rumours, they are just that. Utterly Butterly get spread but it ain't butter!

Defo, thats just the opinion of the writer. In this sentance it says that he has discointed chances of ever fighting khan too.

Khan was the one who said that in his last interview not Hatton, as Khan believes Ricky will of retired by the time they could potentially meet...

jamesmcdonnell wrote:Hatton is going into promotion to make money, same as everyone else did.

If I were Warren I would find it quite galling, given that Warren got him a fight on home soil against Tszyu, and made him a big star in this country, and then got dropped.

The implication that Warren somehow didn't do right by him seems pretty unfair from where I am sitting, especially as Hatton said he left Warren so he could make more money elsewhere, rather than any form of ill treatment.

Fair enough if you want to make money, but Warren did alright by Ricky and got him to where he could go to America and make big money.
Boxing is business James.

Its not Witter love, it's British Boxing love (in my case anyway).

I agree that Hatton is an excellent fighter, but his attitude has to come under question considering he continually refuses this fight

I'm the same mate. This fight has to happen at some point for the good of British boxing.

I think what annoys me, and unofficially Hook, is how people have turned within months of liking/loving/hailing Hatton to saying some quite disgraceful things about him, just because he won't fight someone when they want him to.

They seem to forget how he's helped, along with others, to put boxing back into the sports pages and on terrestrial TV. Someone also mentioned a perfectly valid point, no-one's slagged off Calzaghe because he's facing Hopkins and not Woods.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander IMO!
