if that happens will old Fwank think Thaxton deserves a proper deal? I hope if that happens Thaxton tells Khan to fight him for peanuts or fcuk off

like i said never going to happen though!
What a nice thought!!!

Look Thaxton now has his Lonsdale belt, I think he really needs this step up as there is'nt anything domestically (apart from Khan!!!) .

I really want Thaxton to win this but I don't think that this fight will ever trouble the late rounds. Romanov should despatch him at around 6 or 7 max.
Thaxton has not won the Lonsdale belt outright.

I like them being so close together.

Authentic, strong match making for the hardcore boxing fans one night, cartoon terrestrial smoke & mirrors boxing the next night for the ITV lot.

Great move by Hennessy, who is maturing like a fine Cognac it would seem.

Does make me wonder, whether Hennessy had not already set the wheels in motion beforehand to get to Romanov to prevent Khan doing so?

Oh Terrence, tell me it's not true that boxings gone and made a cynic out of you too!

One of the things which took impetus away from my writing about boxing, was that I spent more time about the talk surrounding events and the bullshit about fights that never happen that the main event itself, something that journalists in other fields don't really have the same amount of time to devote to.

You could write about nothing BUT the hoopla, ballyhoo, and outright bullshit surrounding boxing, and still not have time for a day job.

John Murray.

Great fight for Thaxton. All this rivalry with Amir Khan seems to have re-motivated Thaxton. He seems like he has more passion now.

I think Thaxton will win this fight. It'll be interesting though. I'm glad it's on Sky Sports.

Definitely. There's Murray, not forgetting Truscott, Mitchell and Arthur who could move up any time, Fewkes, etc. Then of course decent names like Limond, Meager and Stewart.

How come Boxing Chat never enlightens us in these kind of topics?

i thought he'd gone a bit stale in his last couple.

he needed a challenge like this.
I hope that Thaxton gets well paid, he loses this fight, imo but at least he can keep the British!

Khan is going the way of Hatton, easiest fights with most reward.

Legit threats?.. Forget those!

He won’t fight Gavin Rees.

Gavin Rees isn't great. The thing is, he's a light welterweight. Khan only fights Super featherweights.

If Khan won. There’s no way he'll defend the belt. He's ducked Thaxton and Romanov at lightweight.

Once you’re a champion it gets harder to duck people. Khan would have to vacate once a half decent light welter cames along.

Khan will most likely wait for Diaz to be stripped and they he'll some how get to fight some featherweight with 30 fights with 3 KO's and maybe a loss or two for the belt.
