I see the banner at Calzaghe and Hatton fights and the logo after episodes of Sopranos.

Is it some special US TV station?
Home Box Office. It's a U.S. subscription TV network.

STP, they're the ones with the BIG bank balance that (partly) bankroll the BIG fights

HBO is also a subscription channel that shows anything from movies, sports talk shows to programs (Sopranos, Sex & The City). HBO have 3 boxings banners under which they show fights:

World Championship Boxing, also known as Championship Boxing (if the fight doesn't contain a world championship). DLH v Forbes is being shown on HBO CB. This is free to customers whom have already paid for the subscription to HBO.

Boxing After Dark, which tends to be for lesser fights, or ones that tend not to appeal to a world market. An example was Soto v Guzman. It's shown later than HBO WCB/CB, usually from 21.30 ET with the main event starting at 22.30ish. This is also free to customers whom have already paid for the subscription to HBO.

HBO PPV, this is for the huge fights (DLH v Mayweather) and usually costs $54.99 per event. If you're not a HBO customer, you can still subscribe for this.
