Has there ever been a fighter who so clearly inspires sympathy with his opponents than Duran? LOL.
I read somewhere that odds before the fight moved dramatically in Duran's favour and that Moore had some dentist work done in the week of the fight. I don't know if it's true.
Can anyone else verify?
THere was a KO Magazine article from back in early '84 I think where Moore was the subject of their monthly interview. He claims he had wisdom teeth taken out just 2-3 days before the fight, and that the blood from his mouth was from the stitches from the surgery busting open. Shame on his braintrust for allowing the fight to go forward. As if they helped in the actual fight, either.

Yeah, the ref was incompetent in that fight and that corner should have stopped it themselves. Its pathetic the way corernmen let their fighter get destroyed like that.

I don't have an all-time favorite fight.
I hate watching fights deferred, nevertheless Kessler's win over Froch (Froch is one of my favourite fighters, by the way), was quite entertaining. I don't know if it's considered classic or less, but I liked it.

What about MosleyvsMargarito..?
I have tons of respect for Mosley: his composure and work-rate are fantastic.
Margarito just had it coming.

Shane Mosley vs. Oscar De La Hoya I
Just watched this back for the first time in quite a while without commentary, quality bout. Had it 115-113 for Mosley, despite falling behind early he showed great composure to work himself back into the fight with a crisp jab & accurate, lightning quick right hands. Two great fighters.
