Must have been relieved when Inkin came down with....err man flu??

Mick should ask them to send over their so called "Hundred Year Talent" to replace - it'd be a perfect fit, with Jurgen Brahmer stepping in. He's lined up to fight one week later as well. No chance anything that sensible & logcal will occur in boxing though.
The Braehmer link had crossed my mind, he will be ready to fight and its a legitimate fight as well, he has always been the golden boy at universum so not impossible. Although knowing the man in charge he will offer the fight to Froch but tell him he has to come to Germany a week later for the fight, not sure Carl would want to do that.

Hovering just outside the top 15 interestingly enough at number 16 is Karoly Balzsoy who just happens to be in favour at Universum at present. If Inkin was knocked out of the top 15 as punishment (seen it done) Balzsoy would leap in and thus be eligible.

All guess work but the fact its quiet in terms of an announcement indicates to me that they are trying to salvage something here and I hope they do, it would be a shame for all concerned if the date falls through and Froch is left with no opponent.

Cant see a credible opponent being found in time. Bika isnt one I would like to see in as a replacement. Very sad news for CF and MH.

As a ticket holder I need to know. Help us Wellington, you're our only hope.
We need to so we can cancel hotels so we don't get charged. Please Wellington!

Froch was dissapointed by Inkin, a bottle job and questioned his guts and believed Inkin knew he'd be stopped in this fight. He wanted an unbeaten opponent all for himself and Inkin was the ticket.

ITV have filmed plenty of clips in Tenerife, all mentioning Inkin.

I truly believe something very fishy has occured here, a promise of a fight with someone else either more famous or an easier route.

They were gutted when froch got the wbc placement, that they made no secret of, as he could spoil the Inkin AND Brahmer party and ruin their stable for little finacial reward in return.

Lets see what materialises out of this.

I hope froch gets the eliminator against someone else and the Wbc get shut of Inkin as the opponent as he is perfectly healthy... tuesday it was a virus and now its a shoulder? sure !

Poor Murray and fukes too

This is terrible news. I admit to not always caring much for Froch's manner but knocking out Inkin on ITV and Showtime would have been the perfect medium to showcase his obvious talent.

If I was Mick Hennessy, I would now be straight on the phone to Warrior promotions to see if Miranda is free.

They were mate, Miranda's people turned it down though as he is weighing around 200 pounds at the moment and currently in discussions over a fight with Kessler

I genuinely think MH should consider closing down his promotional outfit. That isn't to pick fights with people or say MH can't do promotions or promoting, but sometimes you have to look at the bottom line, and the bottom line is that he seems to be really struggling to put shows together or get fights for any of his boxers.
We have boxers that are wasting the best years of their careers by this type of thing happening. First with Witter, then Froch, and who knows if this Thaxton fight will go ahead as planned.
I am sure he is a nice guy that is trying his best, but his efforts could be better rewarded working for another promotional outfit, maybe with Ricky Hatton if he wants to do promoting as a serious venture.
Whether it is because too many other promoters are against him or are tied up working with each other, something is going against MH seemingly everytime he tries to put together a high profile promotion at the moment.

Boxing politics is in my opinion what has stopped this fight and its a load of bollocks.

Carl Froch should be installed as the mandatory contender for the WBC title - no excuses - bollocks to Inkins injury excuse - sorry lost his chance - Froch for the mandatory position.

I don't think it's MHs fault. The Witter fight was seemingly made for Hopkins to drop out with no reason. Now the Inkin fight was made, TV companies on board, tickets on sale and Inkin drops out for no reason.
Inkin and Froch were likely going to be fighting for the WBC belt as Calzaghe will probably vacate. I can't understand why a fighter works his way up the rankings only to run off when he gets the shot at the champion.

Terrible news. Inkin was a solid step up to world class for Froch. Maybe an opponent can be found in time? Whoever mentioned Sam Soliman, that is a no go as Soliman is signed up for the most pointless rubber match with Mundine.

It almost does make you think there's a conspiracy. Or maybe it was just shit luck. Maybe it seemed way too good to be true, Klaus Peter-Kohl sending his guy over to the UK.

I think Universum are nervous about sending a fighter abroad. They'll surely have watched Haye-Mac and perhaps felt that Froch would spark Inkin? They will know that Inkin can't be prepared for a hard fight, given the soft way they have matched him. They will also have seen the strategic bit of info dropped on here by Warren-lackey Boxingchat that Hennessy "is having financial problems" and perhaps Universum felt that this setback would debilitate Mick. Leaving them in a better position when the fight is rescheduled, & probably get the fight in Germany or hope that Froch won't even bother.

Hopefully the WBC realise the absolute bollox that the Germans are pulling, and penalise Inkin's ranking. What is wrong with Inkin, a "shoulder virus"?

Still if MH can put on Murray-Fewkes and Thaxton-Romanov then there's no reason to call it a day. Other promoters have had worst setbacks.

Hennessy is a boxing promoter.

Those other chump promoters are simply in the entertainment industry.

They like their fighters to face unknown Ukranians with padded records and look good on telly knocking them over.

Look at WBO talent Sergiy Dzinzuruk... he's fighting Lukas Konecn 36(1)- 2 next .... ?

Or 100-year talent Jurgen Brahmer ...he's fighting Karim Bennama 17 (4)- 9 next...... ?

Who are these bums ?

They are the biggest talents in his stable, i mean look at Brahmer .. he's fighting a 17W 9L opponent and he's No7 WBC contender... and his ranking is slipping faster and faster... why?

Henessey is a good promoter, but he is far from top dog. He takes chances for his fighters because he needs to.

If he was in Warren's position, I guarantee he would do the same.

It's not like Froch was fighting top 168lbs fighters either until he signed to fight Inkin.

also Hennessy does seem to have some pride into making good, respectable fights. and not making bullshit title fights. with warren you feel if he can get away with it, he'll do it. if there was some kind of standard imposed on British boxing, Warren may not be #1. We need guys to challenge the establishment, like Haye and Booth did the other week.

However as yet MH's fights are not big events, and some fighters seem like they're being held back a bit. If he "controlled a belt" like Warren, he would find it easier to get ppl to get Witter & now Froch fights.

From a fans perspective I think Hennessy is the best UK promoter, (due to the equally matched fights he puts on and because he doesn't have a long succession of soft touches). IMO It would be a crying shame for British boxing if Hennessy Sports went to the wall, as it would probably result in SN monopolising things even more than they already do.

D-Hop and Inkin need a good fcuking shooing!!

Klaus Peter Kohl should retire.

He puts on terrible fights with little intention of making competitive action.

When was the last time anyone was interested in any of his fighters, outside of Germany? The late 1990s?

Markus Beyer?

I bet Catley wishes he'd stayed in shape.

Howard Eastman? A regular on the WBC circuit?

Beyer will do nicely under the circumstances.

Absolutely gutted for Froch. The guy must be busting to unleash himself.

He should be handed a straight shot at the WBC. It's not as if Calazaghe has shown any interest in fighting him either, he's constantly been looking in the opposite direction to Froch.

I just hope Hennessy can make something good out of this challenging situation.

sadly Beyer isn't WBC top 10 any more. Not even top 20, I believe. Because of the inactivity and because he's not with an old fart promoter, he doesn't seem eligible for an eliminator fight vs Froch.
