Peter a good fight for Haye?

I've got the DVD but couldn't motivate myself to watch Rahman-Lawrence. Didn't one of the Maxboxing writers think that Lawrence had done enough to win?

Any cruiser champ moving up is compared to Holyfield. Here is the men whom Holyfield fought - James Tillis, Pinklon Thomas (easy wins vs faded Tyson victims), Michael Dokes (rejuvinated fighter, an absolute war), Alex Stewart (unbeaten at the time, not a bad fighter) & Adilson Rodriguez.

Interestingly, ppl said Evander had no chance vs Tyson. Some are keen to say that Wlad "is just too much" for Haye.

I know Holyfield and Haye brought different things to heavyweight. Holyfield: stamina, physical strength, speed. Haye: power, a sharp long range game, pinpoint accuracy. But I believe Haye could be the most successful since Holyfield. Both strike me as guys who outgrew their division.

I think Rahman could be hard to get in the ring though. He'll surely want an easy way back to another title shot. Which he could get on name reconigtion and nationality alone.The risk reward ratio won't not suit him at all.

Ibragimov might be a good shout as i'm sure he's not going get oppenents lining up with no belt on offer and if Haye could spark him it would compare very favourably to Wlad's performance. Also Iggy is a definitely undersized HW which might mean Haye would consider fighting before the 6 months mark and before he's pumped himself up to 230lbs. And with any luck realise it's not necessary - not all in one go at least.

sounded like Haye was going to try out the weight in increments, 210, 220, and no more than 230.

I don't understand the hype about Peter. I don't think he's that good. Isn't he supposed to be fighting Vitali Klitschko next?

I think Haye should fight someone like Sprott to start off with. Though David Haye wants to start off with a name and he wants to retire by the time he's 30. I'd have to go with Hasim Rahman. He's still a name in America. David Haye will beat him and he has that KO of Lennox Lewis on his record.

I think Hasim Rahman would be a good start for Haye at heavyweight..

They can surely 'afford' Rahman now if Hasim gets a little bit greedy. Last time didn' he try to outprice himself?

Peter would be a better bet than Wlad I think, he's got the height over him to try for a a few early bombs on that suddenly suspect chin, and we saw in the McCLine fight he can be vunerable to an early fast start.

Rahman is the one to aim for, as a launch to the heavyweight top - a win over him and HBO will come running - plus Rahman has a very dodgy chin, has long seen better days and might not be mentaly up for it either.

I could see Haye doing a proper number on Hasim to be honest.

Blasting him out early would be a great statement.

Peter would be ideal.
Whoever gets him to him first is a lucky fighter.
He is shit, pure and simple. Just waititng for another defeat.

I think Haye would stop him. Too slow, too "big"(fat) not enough skill, and not enough skill...did I meantion, he doesn't have enough skill?

Sad, sad, SAD day for the division, when some are trying to proclaim Samuel Peter as the saviour!
Chagaev, Wlad, Povetkin, Chambers, Haye and probably one or three others right now could easily beat him...

Looking at Peter gas in Mexico vs an old man in Maskaev, I have little doubt that Povetkin would absolutely outwork and outlast him. I know heavyweights do get early fatigue in hot weather (like Larry Holmes-Tim Witherspoon) but Povetkin was throwing 90 punches a round (albeit in his bae, Germany) in rds 10, 11 and 12, when suffering the flu.

I would like to see Haye in with some durable heavies. As he would probably need to learn how to pace himself at a new weight. We have seen him make fast starts and then have quiet middle rounds before, so I think this is something he needs to test at heavyweight. I think it will be hard to find opponents that can take his power, as I see his power actually enhancing somewhat with the move in weight.

He's had the power confidence booster, Bonin, already, so I look forward to the announcement of the next opponent.
