i just noticed lockett has never beaten a previously undefeated opponent....
If we are assesing Gary Sockett on the World stage then his skills rate around 3 out of 10...at least Arthur has a few moves.chris_23 wrote:What a ridiculous thing to say, clearly you are a numpty and know very little about boxing...StepinFetchit wrote:Arthur has the better chance because he has some skills, Gary Sockett has none.
"Lockett has no skills" you absolute clown... If you came out with something remotely realistic or constructive people would take your comments seriously but as it stands people just think you are a biased tit head, or American, or both.....

BTW i know more about boxing than you or Harry Greb could ever wish for, if you want to dream about Sockett landing a KO blow on Pavlik then go ahead......i will be watching to see how bad he gets busted up.
That is all.
You've hit the nail on the head - styles are the biggest factor not a simple question of whether someone is the best or not.. something that this plum stepinshit or whatever his name is doesn't understand because he knows feckall about boxing... except what he reads in the paper or on forums....toolAutobarn wrote:It's a hard one, this thread.
Lockett has the more hittable opponent. Pavlik doesn't take a shot at 160 as well as he does at 164. Weight problems? Sure. Easy to hit? Without adoubt. If Lockett lands the big one, albeit a big if...
Whereas I'm not sure AAA can land clean enough, because if Guzman is brilliant at anything it's defence.
However this is but one limited way of looking at things and fights have many more factors and complications.
By the next year he might be back to his cautious self!search wrote:what si frankie warren up to?
first he throws macarelli to the wolves to be slaughtered (which was highly enjoyable), then he sends arthur and lockett to the wolves too. Not to mention Calzaghe could get beaten himself.
Next thing you know Khan will be fighting Cambpell!!
Nice one, sorry AA but a bridge too far and the same goes for Gary Lockett. I think Alex will try hard but I can see Gary taking an early shower.chesh wrote:I think all three judges would have to have the surname Arthur for Alex to outpoint Guzman.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:Arthur because he could at least get a home town decision
cockhead!!StepinFetchit wrote:chris_23 wrote:Weight of course is a huge issue and undoubtedly is going to affect punch resistance.
What does everyone think about Pavliks decision to fight Taylor (II) at a catch weight, was it to protect the belts because he could or because he's struggling at the weight??????
He's a big guy for a middleweight (6ft 2.5) which is why he was compared to Tommy The Hitman Hearns.... Next step super middle for him?????[/quote
MWHAHAHAHAHAHA
Of course someone with Pavliks frame and height he is going to struggle making middle weight.
Are you trying to educate us here???
Pavliks puch resistance will be just fine.......it should be Gary Socketts punch resistance you should be worried about.
Yeah Woodhall is 6ft 3 and Pavlik is 6ft2.5 so pretty much... that'll suit Gary just fine.. he might not be the tallest but he's built like a brick s***house lol... Garys always done well against taller men.. Pavlik will be weight weakened because he's so big and he'll be shocked how strong Gary is on the inside.lurkyshaka wrote:Lockett stands the proverbial punchers chance, and we've seen Pavlik hurt before so Gary's chances can't just be written off. But my goodness he looked small when being interviewed on Setanta on the weekend and it doesn't bode well against a massive middleweight like Pavlik. Ritchie Woodhall is about the same height as Pavlik and he towered over Lockett.
Arthur has a shot if he's not as weight weakened as he looked last time out. Im hoping that display was more due to a slight lack of motivation and he'll be back to his best for Guzman. He'll have to be to stand a chance against Joan Guzman, but i think the best of Arthur is a formidable fighter and he'll not be disgraced. Backed with home support Alex stands a chance at exposing some of the chinks that certainly exist in Guzman's armour.
Lockett - 5ft 10 and Woodhall is about 6ft 3 I thought...Maybe he had dodgy mid life crisis shoes on .... LOL... ??stujones wrote:Right, seeing Lockett on Setanta have to ask - what is his real height.
He is listed as 5 foot 10, if he is 5 foot 10, then Richie Woodhall must be about 6 foot 4 judging by how much taller he looked.
Woodhall is listed as 6 foot 1, shorter than Pavlik. The size difference seemed massive between Woodhall and Lockett.
Lockett looked in tip top shape though already. Oh yeah and Joe looks good also... I wish he, Bradley and Cleverly would be in the states though.
Good article. Gary seems a great bloke and I wish him well. I'm glad he's getting well paid for this fight.
Cock!search wrote:Chris, I honestly can't wait to see Lockett get DONE. And your posts are a huge reason why. Thanks for turning us against Lockett with your co*ksucking posts directed at him
