Well we will never know of Valdez vs Marcianillsill we now?
I knew an old dude who attended matches of that era, & when I brought up his name, the guy shook his head , & said Valdez was good , but had that element missing to win a big match. He said too , he looked lethargic & too cautious at times, against swarming punchers like the Old Mongoose for one example.

yeah,a number of his fights have appeared on youtube since this thread was posted in 2008.
I would still like to see the fight with Sonny Liston however.

It certainly exists in a pile of forgotten films somewhere. But probably impossible to restore, even if you could find it.

You're the only one here focused on height BuzzBox... There's another 22 qualities that you need 17 or 18 of to be an ATG... Valdes was lacking in most.

Just be glad your not "one of those" you know...those height biased folks.

Make sure you're not...because that's all you think about... And I couldn't sell you tall -- because you're not -- when it comes to the range of your thinking.
