Ryan Rhodes belt takes pride of place in his home.
It's a lovely belt, no doubt.
When Ryan was handed the belt which he subsequently won outright, it was in a bit of state to be honest.
Recently we have had it totally renovated (at no small cost I might add) but if nothig else happens with his career, it is something to be vey proud of.
The other belts he holds ( Intercontinentals ) pale into insignificance.
He won the belt outright in 90 days.
Hard enough to beat under the old rules but impossible now under the new rules.
I just can't see how any boxer could pass by an oppertunity to go for this title - it's still the best for me.
As for value - totally irrelevent in the belt holder's mind.
Irreplaceable.

Love to see Ryan do it again one nice Kid got a lot of time for him.

One went on ebay a few years back - the link was posted on this forum - I think it went for 3.5k or 4.5k...

Bombardier" Billy Wells from London's East End was the first British Heavyweight to win the Lonsdale Belt back in 1911 where he defeated Ian Hague with a sixth round knockout.

Billy defended the title thirteen times, a record that stood for many years, before losing against Joe Beckett in February 1919. The Lonsdale Belt that he won was the original heavyweight belt and is crafted from 22 carat gold unlike later belts which are crafted from gold and porcelain.
