Only one lightweight fight I'm very interested this weekend. I really like Khan but personally think he went from a relative step forwards, Earl, to two steps backwards in his recent fights.
I followed Khan's Olympic progress over in Ireland and a bunch of his started out following his career closely, talk to those guys now and they are not fussed about Khan in the slightest, in fact last time I asked they were interested in this Hayemaker chap.
I hope Khan gets motoring soon, he is great for boxing, but only if he keeps his eye on the real prize and not the beating of some stat. Once he gets the title he will have even greater scrutiny, plus better opposition, I just don't think his style is up to it yet.
We saw last week that Katsidis brought one style to the top level and the fighter he fought just showed him a few different things and took him apart.
I'm still a Khan fan (I have a lot of respect for him and his trainer), I just hope his style gels more, it is a bit repetitive right now, and I hope he takes on someone, anyone, who can show us what happens when he gets a really sharp clout on the chin, right now it is looking like no one is particularly confident that his chin is up to the job.

I don't know how much you have seen of Kristjansen - but it is a bit frustrating cause I think he would be more than competitive if he was fighting Thaxton or Romanov.
He might not be the most fashionable fighter around and I'll hold my hands up this split decision win in his last fight has shocked me... but honestly, I would favour him over Limond and probably think he could outbox Thaxton, judging Thaxton's recent form.
Yes, I think styleweise - Romanov and Thaxton probably can give Khan more problems.... but seriously as Richie Woodhall would say - this kid is no mug.
At 1/33 I'm going to put a £5 on it. Thats just mad odds. The guy is proven at EBU level.

Like Terry alludes to, I find it hard to swallow that FW said his next fight would be in America or against Romanov in the post-St.Clair fight interview.
He then makes the match with Kristjansen, justifying it by saying he had to honour a contract with Kristjansen.
If he knew he had a contract to honour, why call other people out or make ridiculous claims, unless you're trying to convince people his career is actually going somewhere.
I completely agree with Terry's article on BBN.
Khan's career is going nowhere quickly, he's not being rushed, he's being held back and people are quickly losing interest.

Seen some of him Stu and he looked like a serious non-puncher to me. Earl was a good fight but the last one was not and this one is not in my opinion.
A bit foolish to come out after the last fight and talk about Thaxton and Romanov then fight neither man.
Non puncher yes, but no point having the punch if you don't have the speed or skills to connect. Limond is a non-puncher also.

Well he places his shots well from what I have seen of him. Has a nice jab, and looks bigger than Khan from the pictures.
IMO he is every bit as good as Limond.

Seen a couple of Kristjansen's fights and he is just too fluid for me, by that I mean when he throws shots in a cluster there are such gaps that he is going to get nailed the moment he throws a three punch combo.
Will hold my hands up if wrong here but its over before the end of the third possibly a lot sooner for me

Just read the spineless BN account of this, swallowing the SN line that FW HAD to take this fight for Khan, due to a previous contract...
So, even though the Dane pulled out last time, Frank STILL has to honour the contract????
Strange way of doing business Frankie.
The Dane was described as looking a bit on the fragile side in one of his fights awhile back, according to BN.

Well I have been in the minority here of calling Kristjansen a decent opponent... however its concerning when the fight promoter says that Khan really needs to do a number on the "Martin Kristjansen's of this world".

Bettina palle have protested the choice of officials for the fight. The ref and the 3 judges will all be british.
