Very true.

Maybe the purest athelte I have seen in all combat sports is George St Pierre.

As mentioned earlier, he repeatedly took down Josh Koscheck(?) and JK was meant to be as FANTASTIC a wrestler as you can get.
GSP is very gifted.

Apparenty he is ALREADY good enough to deal with Olympic wrestlers using just wrestling and he has not been wrestling that long.

Try and catch Penn's fight with Sherk, Dennis. This guy is the most naturally talented MMA fighter I've ever seen. His ground game is frightening.

No doubt!

BJ is amazing - now he is back at lightweight he will be unstoppable!

All this talk of people stepping up 7lbs ( Hi Hatton) BJ fights heavyweights!

As long as he trains BJ IS THE MAN!

His submissions are something to behold!

bj penn is awesome i think his flexibilty and suppleness helps him alot too the guy is like an acrobatic and the way he dealt with and destroyed joe stevenson who i regarded as a great fighter was unbelievable. This guy is a force to be reckoned with.
Most good mma fighters have strong ground game u need to be an all round fighter be as expierienced on the floor as much as on your feet otherwise u will get your weakness exposed a very technical sport not as barbaric as people make out i think any boxer unless they have practised ground skills, takedown defences, kicks, elbows etc will struggle, but obviously have a punchers chance if it stayed on the feet throughout the full fight

Yeah, I noticed that. Can't blame Dana White really. Silva is arguably his most prized asset, and, although he fought pro, RJJ would destroy him, and Anderson would lose his credibility as a fighter.

It any of you get a chance, check out Paulo Filho and Urijah Faber of WEC, the best fighters in their respective weight divisions in the world IMO. I'd actually go to the States to see Faber if he ever fought Penn.

Spot on about Penn, Alex. His flexibility is frightening. Glad he's given up on the Welterweight division. Lightweight is where he belongs, kicking ass!

^^^ I agree RJJ would win convincingly - but it would not harm Anderson's career if he were not injured.

Anderson is best at knees and kicks; he's a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu black belt and has scary wrestling for a Brazilian from a striking background. If his hands are proven not to be at a pro boxer's level, no worries. You don't need to have pro-level boxing skills in mma if you have Silva's (uniquely impressive) skill set.

Agreed, GSP is a phenomenal athlete. He'd be good at any sport he chooses basically.
