Id have dropped Scott Harrison out of the top ten, due to inactivity,
and id have Enzo Mac above Arthur, but other than that its pretty solid,
theres always going to be disagreements when doing a p4p list,
its what makes them so interesting.

Yeah, lol.
What's all this about?

Captain Hook, do you still think Maccarinelli should be above Arthur?
Don't be facetious Horse, or should it be Pony?

I said that before the Haye fight because he was WBO champ. He lost, so Arthur should be above him.

The list is a joke mate, I'm still surprised we all respond to it. I know you're keen and good luck to you, but Harrison, McCullough?

I'm surprised John H Stracey isn't in the top 10...give my regards to Helen Keller by the way, she must have helped you put it together?

Why mention Lockett? Who are these numerous fighters who should not be there? Do you care to name them?
Gooner123 wrote:Duddy, thats his name, I was really impressed with him. I wonder if he boxed in the UK more, we'd here more about him and he'd be ranked alot higher.
I do not think he would be any higher in my list if he boxed in the UK more.
If Lockett has lost once and is good enough for a WBO title shot, how come he isn't good enough to be above Bernard Dunne? Or Ian Napa? I like Napa, but give me a break!

Ian Napa has close to cleaned out domestically which is a lot more than Lockett has done. He shouldn't make the list just because he has a title shot. For me he is below Elcock and Duddy because he doesn't have a name like Eastman (faded though he is) on his record. Dunne beat Pickering, a former euro champ, which is a better win than Ryan Rhodes IMO

I never mentioned Elcock and Duddy, I said he should make the list.

Are you telling me Gary Lockett is not one of the top 30 fighters in Britain?

I don't think he would make the top 10 or even 15 at the moment as I agree his achievements are limited, but will common sense prevail?

Dunne?

and I was at the Napa fghts v Booth and Haskins and I am an admirer, but come on....

The difficulty of these so called P4P ratings is how do you judge...

eg Elcock/Eastman/Duddy - Lockett would beat all 3 (Eastman is past it now and was awesome in his day of course) BUT because of Locketts lesser opponents he isn't rated.

Is this about talent/ability or about who they stick in front of you... ???
When are you forum people going to learn that your opponent is COMPLETELY OUT OF YOUR CONTROL? If you don't believe that you are so niaive you should never post on a boxing forum again... seriously!!

I mean c'mon - Harrison/McCullough on the list when they haven't fought since 05/06 respectively...

Boxing is about politics & money and thats why some fighters get chances and some don't...

I has to be about who they have beaten not who they could beat, one is fact the other is opinion.

I agree with most of what you say Hook, just giving Horse's list a bit of support. I wouldn't have any of the middles that high but i've got a lot of time for what Napa has done with his career.

Haye should definatly be at number 2 above hatton

hatton hasnt beat a top contender in 3 years

haye took on the undisputed number one, stopped him and then defended against his divisons witter and ko'd him in the 2nd

Unless the list is calculated (computer generated), it will always be opinion.

McCullough has to come out - he's not fought for 3 years and lost on stoppage.

I know he hasn't retired but blimey, thats too long to stay ranked.

Tony Oakey is a bit low. He may not be everyones cup of tea, but on a good run, and should be above Eastman, McCullough and Johanneson
If Oakey beats Francis in June then he should overtake all of those guys.

I don't drop fighters for inactivity. I hope other fighters activity lets them overtake the inactive fighters, unfortunately this hasn't really worked out so far. Perhaps I am biased, as I prefer Arthur to Enzo, but I don't think there is much in it. Thank you for your contribution.

Props to you for being enthusiastic enough to do a list, I for one would never deny or try to deny you your opinion.

But a lot of it is Horse shit :)

Lenny - agree with you mate, but there are just so many contradictions. Personally I'd have Napa around the 17/18 mark on recent form.

No, Horse is fine.

That is all I wanted to know.

I think we all know about Harrison and McCullough. Are they the only fighters that make this list a "joke"?

Bernard Dunne has beaten better fighters and so has Napa.

There are three Middleweight fighters on my list: Duddy, Elcock and Eastman. Perhaps they are all a little high, not by much though.
stujones wrote:Also just wonder - what about Jason Cook. Ex European champion now declared that he is coming back... so really is more active than McCullough.
Jason Cook was not in my list when he was still active, so he will not be entering my list unless he gets at least one big win.
Bit harsh not to have Cook in at all when he was active. He was an ex EBU champion - beaten Zoff who went on to reclaim that title.

Would Lockett beat all three? There could well be a reason he has not been put in against quality opposition.

If he did not like it then he should have left Warren. It is not competely out of his control at all.

Harrison and McCullough have been out of the ring because of politics. Why don't you give them a break?

Horse just give this list up and get a job, it's a fornicating joke and your attitude is as well.

Harrison is not out of the ring because of politics, he was out of the ring because he's a drunken bully and prefers fighting in bars and getting in trouble to getting fit.

Do you call that politics?

Hatton took on the undisputed number one and stopped him as well. That was less than three years ago. Most people have Hatton above Haye in their World P4P rankings, and I am one of them. So, having Hatton above Haye is quite a common and reasonable decision.

McCullough has not fought for 2 years and 8 1/2 months, so it is not quite 3 years yet. McCullough dropped two places this month, so he will likely be leaving the list in the next several months.

Depends on when you read the list... and depends on how long you've been running your list privately.

But you said... "I never had him in when he was active".... Well I did have Cook in when he was active - but I eliminated him for being inactive... AS I HAVE WAYNE and SCOTT.
