Exactly. If Audley can go in there confident, knowing he can win, and not being scared to take a couple of shots in return, he can challenge the best of them.

Its been said many times but surely this is his one absolute final chance to salvage his career.

If Audley takes a few "shots in return" he will get knocked out - simple as..........he just hasent got what it takes...........

AH could have taken £100k to go pro before the Olympics - he turned it down and GOOD FOR HIM - a good business decision.

Also - I can tell you this, the press and fwank etc may slag him off, but within the black community AH is very well respected.

He may not have made good his promise to be World Champion but I am sure he takes comfort from the fact he DOES have many fans AND the black community is right behind him and that means more than a world title!

You know what...I actually agree with you on this

Of course one thing about Audley is he had bags of talent but unfortunatley he never delivered, before he fought Williams he was very reluctant to let his hands go, and then after it he neglected his defence,
i guess a lack of balance was to blame, he just didnt manage to get it all together at the right time, shame.

So who is Audley's opponent going to be? I read a rumor in another boxing forum that Guinn and McDermott are possibilities.

Guinn? At 2 weeks notice. Absolutely no chance.

McDermott has a fight set so that aint happening.

Audley has said on his website the opponent will be low key so it makes these turds who are making these Guinn and McDermott rumours look pretty amusing.

Yes, it was hard to believe that Guinn or McDermott would come in on short notice. It will likely be a Andrew Greeley or Jermell Barnes level opponent, in other words, a tomato can.

AH has a long road ahead back into contention but he can do it. He has skill, he has size, he has speed and he is a southpaw!

He tried to be all things to all men and you can't do that... you can if you are Oscar de la Hoya and can cherrypick your big fights twice a year then promote them yourself but it was always going to be a disaster for a up and coming pro.

For a heavyweight he is young. The same age as Matt Skelton when he made his pro debut against Gifford Shillingford!

Danny Williams v Al Cole has been added to the Woods v Tarver undercard.

I think we can all see a Williams v Audley rubber match for the British and commonwealth titles in July now. Assuming that the Toney fight has died.

So has Audley signed with Warren again? If he has I think we'll probably see him go down the WBU route - the WBO is off the menu due to Wlad being the champ.

Id be suprised at that. If Skelton beats Samm I dont think he would need Audley at all, unless Audley went and beat a Danny Williams (with a full 10 weeks prep) convincingly.

I think if Skelton beats Samm he will be straight back in line for a World title shot.

he idled for ages and then finally stepped up over 4 yrs after he first turned pro.

that was only against british level danny williams. and as for the fight itself.

Well, Edward Murphy - he went at HIS pace and barring injuries he would have been more active.

If he can get his head straight then he can make an impact.

Something he told everyone and anyone he'd fight for, and win after 5 fights

I don't fault Audley for going it alone.... i fault him for all the disrespect he threw at good honest pro's, saying he'd beat them easily etc, before he'd even had a handful of pro fights.... AND, for his complete unwillingness to engage and fight when in the ring. Hardly backs up all that talk does he. I've rarely seen such a big man look so scared in the ring. Thats fine, fair play to him for fighting, BUT, don't give it the big'un in the first place if you're not at least willing to Try and back it up.

True, but few have failed to do so with such a fanfare!

Baffles me how people still think he can be a world force coming off being clean KO'd by Michael Sprott!

If it's at all possible I think he'll be more gunshy when he returns. Fighters have come back from KO defeats before but not sure Harrison has it in him. He was petrified of being hit BEFORE getting cold cocked.

Promoting and fighting off the media plus personal issues may have had an effect on AH.

MAY have had an effect.

He looked good up until the Davis fight, IF he can regain some onfidene
then we will see.

This is last chance saloon and the first time round, he had it way too easy.

I see Audley Harrison's Apr 19 and Danny William's Apr 12 fights are still not on the BoxRec schedule.

Are they really going to be fighting on those cards, or is this just rumors?
