Morgan weighed in at near 20 stone! Some mean looking fellas in the stare downs. I am starting to like the look of Ferguson, he appears a tough cookie and quite tall, but not sure if he is any good mind you.

Good pictures Rogan looks about the meanest one there in the photos. Must be those Irish (what your back sunny) eyes.

Rogie will run straight over the top of Ibbs - the stoke lad is nothing like seasoned enough to deal with the Irishman.

Rogie by decapitation for me.

Re: Staredowns.

Wilfred Benitez won the staredown against Sugar Ray Leonard before their world title fight which Leonard won on a 15th round KO.

Afterwards reporters asked if Leonard was intimidated by Benitez at the pre fight press conferences/weigh in.

'Benitez won the stare downs, I won the fight' :TU:

Some fighters are good at that kind of intimidation crap - usually boxers who work as part time bouncers/bailiffs/enforcers  but once you get in that ring it counts for nowt - just ask David Tua when he fought Lennox! :TU:

Bessey coming in at 17st 10lbs is fantastic news - I remember his post saying he was 20st and it looks as if he has trained hard for this! Go on Billy lad! :box:

Just looked at Rogies staredown! Hahahaha! Excellent - looks like a young Roy Shaw!

Ferguson & Billy in the ring.

Ferguson looks fit, Bessey looks.. hmm, less fit :TU:

I hope Colin Kenna wins. He used to be my kickboxing instructor in Winchester about 10 years back.

Bessey looks like Onslow :D

Billy just got dropped but is weathering the storm. However, to be frank, if this is the future of boxing then woe betide us - they're looking like a couple of pub brawlers in there... despite Johnny Nelson's best efforts to convince us we're watching something special :TU:

Fair play, Billy did get up and is still there. Still... and I mean no disrespect.... I have seen better fighters in my local.

This is not so much interesting as simply...amusing. But then again, nothing wrong with that.

Thats a shame- I was hoping he would do well, he post on these forums, so he is "our man!" :box:

This is truly awful in terms of talent, but entertaining which i guess is the aim of the game.

Slug and hold, slug and hold. Bessy is hardly a primed athlete.

I think they should go the whole hog and stage it in a fairground tent!

Come on mate! Just take it on for what it is! :TU:

Personally - It is designed to be an entertaining tourney based on an idea that is probably as old as boxing itself - despite Barry Hearns schtick about it being a 'novel concept' These lads are jobbing boxers who take 24 hour notice fights anywhere in Europe and this is a big carrot dangled on a short stick - good luck to them! I don't think anyone is expecting Sugar Ray Robinson kind of skills are they?

I'm looking forward to big Darren Morgan totally flattening David Dolan! :TU:

Good grief... look at these two. Are they extras from Deliverance? :o

  Don't worry Carlos, I am taking it for what it is. I'd just genuinely be worried if this format caught on and became anything more than a novelty. Heavyweight boxing in this country is already dire enough (bar Haye) without anything else dragging it down.

With Ibbs, you has to ask yourself how did he get to 3-0?..

He is young yet fleshy and wide, wide open.

Rogan should be too fit for Ferguson in their semi

Bad luck Billy. I guess if he was dropped there was no way he was going to take a points verdict.

Billy came back very well after the knockdown and did himself and his fans proud.

Without the KD I think he should have edged it - he cretainly seemed to have a bigger gas tank than Ferguson who was blowing out of his @rse in the 3rd rnd.

I'd still take even money on Bessey to beat Audley Harrison.
