I take Johnson to win this on points, I feel he won the third Woods fight he seemed to land a lot of clean punches but Woods got the crowd reactions with his punches. I fancy Woods wide decision V Tarver too

Johnson has a real chance of beating Dawson with his heart and workrate. Dawson has some skills though, so there will be periods where he's in control and landing good shots. I make it about a 50/50 fight, really.

Did Sr say this because he genuinely believes this or because he is a vindictive bullying character? I'd expect the latter, Dawson has weaknesses and probably isnt the strongest LHW but he is extremely talented. Pussies don't beat Adamek

Well if Dawson wins well, and Joe wins vs Hopkins... that fight HAS to be made.
Dawson will be the Light Heavyweight Mikkel Kessler.

Can't see Johnson winning this one - I think he's over the hill these days, and although he'll be competitive I suspect he'll be out boxed over the full 12.

Apparently the decision for Dawson was controversial.
Good old Glen Johnson, he exposes prospects.

Not controversial at all. Dawson did enough to nick it, lot of close rounds, but Johnson just trumped in enough rounds, had Dawson going, but even his big ninth round, he lost the first two minutes of the round.
The commentators said it was, but what they meant was that the crowd didn't like it, because of Dawson's style.

I didn't score it round by round but thought that Dawson was worthy of the win a by round or two.
The only controversy came with a crowd that wanted to see a toe to toe and didn't get it.

yeah i had dawson winning.
tarver-dawson will likely happen now.
both on showtime aren't they.
it makes calzaghe's last fight look interesting.
roy jones may come back into the picture now.

I scored it 117-114 for Dawson. Dawson got slightly exposed but its hard to look good against Johnson.

I had Dawson 115-113. Great effort from Johnson. Put him in with a stationary fighter for eff's sake and he can win more big fights.
Johnson just peaked too late in his career. When he finally had the class, he didn't have the stamina. It's the same story since he lost to Ottke in Germany; Glen gives rds away in tight fights. In this case the middle section.
Glen has a habit of winning crowds over in his opponents' hometowns. He loses tight ones, but - crucially - the ones he wins are very very close as well.
He moans about being robbed in this and that fight. But the fights that made him are PTS wins over Eric Harding and Tarver - ppl say that Johnson lost those bouts.
Great grizzled pro who's had an honourable career.

I think the Woods fight has just shown that Calzaghe cannot look past anything or take anything for granted.
Calzaghe - if he beats Hopkins - won't need Tarver who lost to Hopkins. He won't need Dawson who is fast & young.
How about Johnson, whom many had beating Woods every time (though I didn't) and many had beating Dawson and is officially 1-1 with Tarver?
Showtime are obsessed with making Dawson-Tarver to enhance Dawson. Glen would love an HBO payday.

Glen put in a terrific effort, felt bad for him when those cards were read out. I didn't keep track of each round but felt Dawson did just enough to edge the fight, although wouldn't argue against a close win for Johnson. They both fought well. If only it was Johnson in there with Tarver tonight instead of Woods...

I think if Johnson was a couple of years younger he would have won. Excellent career from old walnut head. I think Glen has shown Diaconu how to batter Dawson. If Diaconu can still bang after that hand/wrist injury.
Got to admire the way Johnson and Woods have made so much of their careers but Johnson is apparently still going strong.

The fight that made Johnson was his KO of Roy Jones, what are you on about? Everyone knew he was good before that, but he was part of the international "who needs him" club.

The Jones Jr KO is the other big win. The only fight that Johnson dominated at the top level.
However, the fight that punctuated his big run was the narrow win over Tarver. This was the highlight as Tarver had beaten Jones already, Johnson had beaten Jones and it pitted the #1 and #2 guys in the division. This got Glen the 2004 Fighter of the Year award.
However, Glen would never have been taken seriously at world level had he not beaten Harding. Another narrow win. This got him his shots at the IBF title. If he'd lost this bout, then he wouldn't have fought Clinton in Sheffield.

Yeah, Dawson was a worthy winner.. he is fast... and I think will improve and learn from this.

I was unimpressed by Dawson, thought he was very lazy and careless and almost paid for it.He's just lucky he was facing Glen Johnson at tail end of his career.

Dawson just won but those scorecards were awful.
Dawson has a shaky chin too and will get KO'ed by a puncher who can land.

I think there was one round in the fight. Dawson did not impress me.
