Bit dismayed at the lack of kudos going to Hopkins. We're all aware of his career and his pedigree, but he's 43 - can you blame him for spoiling a fighter of Calzaghe's speed and class? I think it's testament to Hopkins that the fight was so close as when it was first agreed I had Calzaghe by a huge points margin.

On the inside Hopkins was more aggressive and quicker and it was annoying that Darke and Woodhall were complaining about Cortez's referring being inconsistent to the Hatton fight - Cortez stepped in at every chance and didn't allow Hopkins as much time on the inside as he would have liked (similar to Ricky's fight). If he had allowed it Hopkins could've nicked it.

As it stands Calzaghe did win the fight and deserved it for being the more aggressive.

Not a great fight, but it was difficult to expect it to be a ding dong punch out.

Well done Joe - Pavlik next would be lovely.

Hopkins should retire, he has been rubbish to watch for the last few years.

People who scored for Hopkins really did so because it was nit the the JC we are used to seeing,JC could not fight the usual JC fight, but he still won!

I had it 116-111 for Joe. How in the hell can any of you score it for Nard. hes become as bad as John Ruiz. He spent more time holding then Punching.

A round lasts 3 minutes - if you back pedal and hold for 2.45 and throw the odd shot that land and miss, how can do win the fight?

I had Joe 56-58 after six.

And winning by three at the finish.

I had it Hopkins by 1 - winning due to the knockdown.

Although I said before the judges gave their decision neither fighter can cry robbery, it was too close, too messy to say either fighter definitely won.

Fair play to Hopkins, landing the better punches and I think 5 years ago when he threw fair more combinations and was a fair bit quicker, he would have beat Calzaghe comfortably. Although it was a shame to see him make such a meal of the supposed low blow.

Should the fight have hapened 3,4,5 years ago Calzaghe would've been the bigger man. The extra stone has done wonders for Hopkins' late career.

Calzaghe Jones is a retirement fund fight, surely Calzaghe Pavlik is the one the fans want to see. But alas, if Pavlik can make 160 why travel to 175?

I've watched it twice. Same score both times.

Calzaghe: 115-112

Looking over the American forums, seems the majority thought Calzaghe won it, so right result in the end I guess.

Ugly fight and best forgoten, but Joe has taken a hell of a lot away with it.

First time in the US, at a new weight, he's taken the belt off The Man in his own backyard, the same man who made new champ Tarver look like a novice, and he's got the name Bernard Hopkins on his record of wins.

I agree with you in that Hopkins landed the more cleaner shots. Calzaghe may have indeed thrown many more shots & landed more, but they had little effect imo.

The give such an inaccurate scoring as Giampa did is an insult to a fighter of Bernard's stature.

No one in the Calzaghe camp thought he won the fight. At the end of the 12th, Enzo Calzaghe tells Joe to raise his arms up as if he knows he's won. If you think you have won, you wouldm't need to be told to raise you arms. You would do it anyway!

As Bernard said in his post fight interview with Kellerman, "I took him to school"!

I couldn't get in Hopkins favour however hard I tried - watching live I went 116-112, the two times I've seen the rerun I've thought it was more like 115-112 or, at the most generous you could possibly be to Hopkins, 114-113.
