the more I think about this the more I get a sense that I'm going to be terribly let down by the main event. These guys just won't be able to do it anymore. A training camp is not going to be enough to help them get back into any sort of fight-fit shape. It could really break Jeff.

I think you just have to take it for what it is mate, an exhibition. I have little doubt that both blokes will give it there all and make a decent show out of it, so long as the undercard is ok I think it will be worth tuning in. McMahon v Paulley looks like a decent scrap, if they can get a few more fights like that it will go alright...

But five women! Come on Jeff, surely this is a case of Mrs Palmer and her five daughters.

Fenech says he was sleeping with up to five women a day in the weeks leading up to his crushing KO loss before a crowd of 37,000 people at Princes Park in Melbourne in 1992.

Now happily married, Fenech - who turns 44 next week - will have a rematch with Nelson in a comeback fight at Vodafone Arena in Melbourne on June 24 and says wife, Suzee, has kept him level-headed.

He will also star in a four-part Foxtel series, which began filming last week, documenting his life.

"I wasn't married back then and I had a massive ego, Fenech said.

"I thought I was invincible and that I could do anything I liked.

"I slept with four or five girls every day. I done everything wrong. I just thought I was going to win.

"In the end I paid a heavy price."

Asked whether he was far too cocky in the lead-up to the fight, Fenech replied: "Yeah, 100 per cent. I thought I was Anthony Mundine for a couple of months.

"My downfall in life has been me, for not being able to adapt when I should have, not being able to stay grounded when I should have."
Errrrr I'm not so sure Jeff has a good grip on reality these days. This writeup is so full of it it's not even funny. I can't help but think that Nelson will wipe the floor with him by about round 6

I only just heard this fight is happening the other day. This is dreadful news! I always liked Azumah, and I was glad that he retired when he did. Why the hell would he come back and risk embarassing himself for this nonsense??

I wonder what his excuse was for getting decapitated by Calvin Grove?

"I couldn't get laid anymore. Girls didn't want anything to do with me after I was stopped by Nelson. I had all this sexual frustration just building up. I was too tight..."

"I was spanking off five times a day (once for every girl I used to sleep with per day). I spanked off in the dressing room before the fight. My hands were so tired, I couldn't hold them up anymore. That's why I couldn't block that right hand..."

Is he really in need of money? I'd always heard he was a successful businessman over in Ghana (unless his businesses all went under?).

my boxing trainer was an ex-world champion in welterweight division and also 4x Australian champ for his age groups when he was a teen and hes helping train fenech for this fight in south melbourne.
i dropped in to their gym and by the way jeff's training - azuma's gonna be knocked out Colddd by round 4.
thats not a guess or an opinion, its an educated prediction.

I tell you what I think, for what it is worth. There has either been a media push to make Azuma look shabby, or this is going to be a dangerous mismatch. I hope the former. But, if you believe the hype, the odds you can get for Jeff (around $1.75) sound like some of the best money in the bank odds I've heard of in years.

Always been a Fenech fan(despite much egotistical nonsense) and my view on a few points;
1)never hheard Fenech make any excuses for Grove loss. Watching that fight was painfull. Just did not seem like Jeff.Perhpas Grove was a better boxer than i gave him credit for. Jeff just didnt seem Jeff. What he tried just didnt work like he used to.Seemed shot to me.
2)never short of an excuse?Only ever heard much about loss to Nelson. Think arrogance and a FARKIN good and naturally bigger opponent got the better of him(not to mention Jeffs style eventually being his downfall as i figured it always would once he got up to a certain weight).
As for before that-reckon some of the most chalky and farked up hands ever where not an excuse-just a reality.
3)am disappointed with Jeffs banter about Green(and to a lesser extent Mundine even). Come on Jeff.Youve got the limelight again. Dont be a total tool. The records getting boring. Not good for aussie boxing.Wasnt Dannys fault his opponent ran in the title fight.
4)i think this will actually be a WAR while it lasts. Reckon Fenech has thought about that 1st loss every day since. And Nelson is a proud man.Instincts never die. Wonder if Fenech will be too desperate and if so ,assuming Nelson still has any power left, it could be goodnight Jeff.
5) I will be watching. cant wait for it AND to see Kickett. Hats off to that lad.

I have seen some photo's and he does look a little soft around the edges and from what I've heard he doesn't seem as sharp in his sparring but this will still be a competitive exhibition...

The price is bullshit, but being in boxing starved Australia I will pay for it and enjoy it whilst it lasts.
Especially the Kickett v St Claire bout.
