In the back of my mind, do I remember somewhere that he Klitschko had a phone call with Lennox to discuss a fight.

I heard that Klitschko just thought Haye was an idiot.

So here's my 'wild card' call...

Am I the only one who's thought the following - the Klits have set up K2 promotions (following the GBP example), they're shrewd guys and recognise that Haye has the potential to be a huge commodity at heavyweight. Could there have been a pitch to Haye along the lines of 'You agree to being promoted by K2, and you'll be guaranteed a title shot against me (Vlad) in 2009..."
That would be a great carrot to dangle...
Don't get me wrong, I'm not convinced that this was the case, but I'm surprised no-one has thought it's at least a possibility.

Haye and Klits are squaring up at seni right now and its getting quite ugly.
Klits was there as a guest and Haye turned up with a camera crew in a publicity stunt and just looked a classless prick.

on the radio interview with klitschko a few weeks ago wladimir said that if haye signed with k2 then the fight could be made !!!!

Currently 21-1 (20), Haye has lost only to Bolton iron man Carl Thompson in five rounds at Wembley in 2004; the only man to take him the distance is slippery Belgian Ismael Abdoul in 2006. All the time he was learning, and when he failed to dent Mormeck in the early rounds of that big world title showdown across the Channel five months ago, he kept his cool and even took a knee at one point, before finding his second wind and finishing the burly home man with a cracking right. Oh yes, David has learned well from Thompson, when he punched himself out. Mentally, he is even better prepared for the big boys than he was before.
That's good because Klitschko does not fall into the category of eastern European heavyweight (or fat American) bores. The 6ft 6½ins, 17 stone, 32-year-old Ukrainian is an imposing physical specimen with an imposing record: 50 wins in 53 fights (44 early), although to adopt boxing parlance, he is also 'chinny' and one of those 'on top' fighters who dishes it out well but panics and tires rapidly if he fails to finish opponents (shades of Frank Bruno). You could say he implodes.
Boring, he ain't.
Equally, Haye lacks a cast iron jaw and great stamina but looks more fluid than the often robotic Klitschko, much more, and such a thing makes a difference when fighters are hurt and tired. In this prospective battle of pretty boys, Haye has the edge in natural ability and of course speed while "Wlad" is obviously the bigger, stronger, proven heavyweight - the proven heavyweight puncher, with twice as many knockouts as Haye has had fights.
Bizarrely, Haye shed promoter Frank Maloney in recent weeks, a shrewd, shrewd individual with an obvious track record of success in the heavyweight ranks dating back to Lennox Lewis. It sums up all this hyperbole. Haye really needs a few more testers at the weight before considering Klitschko.
"He (Haye) has great potential but he has to put some weight on and get some fights as a heavyweight," said Klitschko himself.

Despite his fighting style, as a person I like Vlad... but he didn't know what the f@ck to do there

Agreed, he can match his power..... it's whether he wants to engage that'll be the difference. At least we know Haye will come to fight and go for it.... whether Vlad will do the same is a different matter. If he does, then Haye could well be in trouble, and on the bad end of a big KO - that said.... so could Vlad. Vlad would rightly be the favorite, but I don't see it as one sided.

Haye needs some Inside fighting, that dropping the left hand low Roy Jones style with head movement gets him tagged too much and he doesn't have the chin at Heavy like he did at Cruiser for It.

Haye didn't come across very well there, but it's all part of the game. I do like Wlad Klitschko; he always seems like a nice guy.

Bit selfish to hype your self up at a charity event though.

It wasn't a charity event. It was at Seni08, I thought. The mixed martial arts and combat show thingy. Klitschko was over here doing something for his charity, but the tete a tete happened at that Seni event.

You can't fault haye's confidence in that clip if noting else!

Tbh if that was my first viewing of Haye I would probably think "what a prick!" I know better but I think he could have showed more respect - whatever you think of Wladimir he's a very good fighter and the best heavyweight on the planet. I think Haye would have got further if he approached Wlad more politely. But boxing is 70% hype 30% fight I suppose....

The thing is he is after the american audiance and to them he probably wants to come accross as cocky and arrgent like a lot of their stars, I think british HWs have to show that they are more exciting than Lennox as people otherwise they get tared with his brush by american fight fans.
