that article doesnt really expand on anything that hasnt already been said in the thread so far, other then to re-confirm Berrio as the front running replacement.

Lets hope they can get him in :TU:

Is there a chance the WBC would sanctin this one as it is the second time Inkin has pulled out?

Good replacement if he can get it keeps Froch opperating at a high level non the less.

Still a good card with Witter and froch on it.

Inkin is out, Berrio is in.

I think Berrio was in the wings already by the sound of things.

Inkin, the bum, should be removed from the WBC rankings altogether.

I understand they had a lot of negotiating to even get Inkin to sign up in the first place.

I expect the Russian bum to switch to the calzaghe-vacated WBO title and do a sergey driznik - i.e. face chumps in Germany until retiring.

Brilliant late replacement as they go. Shame Froch couldn't have a go at Inkin but I think he should still get a title shot in his next fight.

Thanks Gomez. It's a quality replacement and might make it a better fight.

Glad we won't lose any money.

Well, at the end of the day the main thing is that it is still a WBC eliminator, which it will.

And with regards Berrio, if Froch hammers him in 3 rounds then it will look mightily impressive as opposed to Bute's 11th round win.

ITV, Witter, Murray all still in place.

Will be a great show.

Berrio is slow as f**k, although he does have a decent dig. Froch should stop him by the half way mark, unless he decides to sit back and box a bit. It's not a great fight, but then again I didn't think Inkin was great from what I'd seen either. Inkin has just been getting talked up, because there are a few Carl Froch fans on here.

Meaty Mick has brought in an excellent replacement - its a good fight.

Yep, that's good work. Should still count as a final eliminator.

Yep that'll do nicely as a replacement.

WBC should drop Inkin out of the top 20 ASAP after this - trouble is the useless WBO will probably promote him for taking yet another rain check, the china chinned bum.

Got to say, it seems we were all correct in bashing Inkin/Universum when he pulled out last time with his "shoulder virus." What a sad waste of talent and it's bad to see Froch buggered about so much. How are the WBC going to take Inkin and his promoter seriously ever again?

Anyway, did Warren do something similar with Rees and Kotelnik, pulling Rees out of the German show a few weeks before fight night and then somehow securing the fight in the UK? These old time, no risk promoters are really, really credibility training at times.

The thing is the guys who controle a few of the big fighters can bully the sanctioning bodies and TV networks a lot more. However when Calzaghe retires it could be that there are 3 world champions in britain (Haye, Witter and Froch) and he won't have any will be interesting to see how he deals with that... quickly kissing and making up with Frank Maloney I suspect!

I absolutely agree - but whilst having to be careful what I write concerning Mr Jose Sulaiman - lets just say he sometimes makes the strangest decisions!!!

Froch - or more to the point "Meaty Mick" should f*ck the WBC right off if they were to insist on a fight with Inkin further down the line.

I am convinced Froch is world class and he will have every doubter eating humble pie!!!

The fight I most want to see him but it will never happen is one against Calzaghe - Sorry gents I know I am in the minority but it is an easy nights work for Froch.

Bit gutted about Inkin pulling out, because I believe Froch-Inkin is a better fight than Froch-Berrio. But that's not to be down on Berrio, who is an excellent late-notice oppponent.

Inkin may well be under the weather, but it's hard not to think that his team have decided that a vacant WBO belt is an easier job than coming to Nottingham.

Either way, it's still an excellent nights boxing. Can't wait for it. :box:

If you were very cynical you might suggest that a phone call was made from an office in Hertfordshire to Universum informing them that a late withdrawl from Inkin might just lead to a certain Welshman vacating his world title...............

Obviously I wouldn't suggest that. I'm sure that Inkin's ingrown toe nail is career threating and I wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Full credit to Mick Hennessy for having Berrio lined up. I think he's an excellent replacement, Inkin is completely overrated anyway.

Bad news - Froch deserves a fight, any fight, for the title now.

Really gutted for Froch and Hennesy but if Berrio is the replacement maybe this can still be a WBC eliminator. Inkin should be removed from the ranking but I suspect the same as some others - that he/his camp don't care about the WBC title and sees an opportunity and easier route with the soon to be vacant WBO strap.

I am cynical enough to believe this. And who was first out with that horrible bit of news but Warren and Boxingchat.

Let's all keep a close eye on Calzaghe, which belt gets vacated first, and which one Inkin is rewarded a shot at.

Does Kotelnik have the same promoter as Mario Veit? If so, was the above a retaliation to the Calzaghe Magee fight being called off at the 11th hour?

Inkin, the bum, just never fancied it did he?

Away from home, where he wasn't a big favorite, just wasn't in the script.

That's right. Universum have Veit, Kotelnik, Inkin, Brahmer, Erdei etc.

Yeah, Universum did sort of outmanouvre Warren on the Calzaghe-Magee which got scrapped so that Joe could keep his title if he fought Veit. Maybe for the best. Can anyone imagine how bad Calzaghe-Magee might have been.

Didn't froch say he would replace Magee that time.

So that would be Inkin vs Brahmer then would it?

I don't know - always wanted to see them two fight.
