Haye wants to jump the queue thus avoiding getting beat before he gets
a title shot.Bronin was shit and one cruiserweight defence dosn,t make him the great he seems to think he is,
The Haye that got dropped by super middle Lock and lost to Thompson will reapear when a half decent heavy stands upto him.

He hasn't vacated his Cruiser belts yet to be ranked though, only the WBC and WBA and O will rank him If he vacates since he won their belts. The IBF won't care unless he wins at Heavy first.Chambers2 wrote:At least one of the major governing bodies gives a top ten ranking to the European title holder, so it's not that strange an idea that the Unified lineal Cruiser champ can jump in the HW queue.Max Molyneux wrote:Thats at cruiserweight though, he's won nothing at Heavyweight yet.Terry D wrote: You do realise that Haye captured the Cruiserweight title? How did JC get his shot at the Rings LHW champ without fighting at the weight, this is the same scenario
Holy didn't jump the queue either.
The Rings not a proper title either so anyone can jump to that. Urango wasn't even top 10 when Ricky fought him yet Ricky could put his ring title on the line.

The point Terry was making is that Audley and Haye are two different animals and you can't possibly compare them. Even if Haye was to fail at heavyweight, nobody can take away what he has accomplished at cruiserweight. WBC/WBA/WBO and Ring Mag champion. Not many British fighters can claim that during their career. Harrison won zlich as a pro and didn't take one meaningful fight. Please don't compare them.Max Molyneux wrote:Thats at cruiserweight though, he's won nothing at Heavyweight yet.Terry D wrote:You do realise that Haye captured the Cruiserweight title? The real one? Ok, so by your reasoning Haye should target Oliver McCall to highlight his superiority at heavyweight rather than Wlad Klitschko (cos' he's chinny)? McCall has a chin of granite, a massive punch and is experienced. A worst nightmare for Haye, right? That would definitely prove Haye is number one! So what if McCall hasn't won a meaningful fight for years...deadpan wrote:My views are -
1. Wlad has the right to look elsewhere and ask Haye to earn his shot. Haye confronting him with the Setanta cameras there shouldn't get him a shot over those who have been waiting their chance. It makes him look a bit WWE. And therefore a bit silly.
2. Haye is targeting Wlad because he's chinny. Hence my 'shit or bust' paradigm. If Lennox was no.1 Haye wouldn't be targeting the top man.
3. Yes, Eraserhead fighters get shots out of their division. But only if both fighters want it. Wlad doesn't at the moment. Why should he? If Haye is really the future of the division and bowls over some top names they could meet in 18 months and earn twice the money.
If Enzo had won, would he have earned the right to face Wlad next?
Like bastard heck as like. As Brian Glover probably once said.
To say that point is flawed would be an understatement. Yes, Klitschko is chinny and vulnerable. He's also the most athletic, physically imposing and hardest hitting heavyweight in the world today. And, guess what, he's the best there is today - hence why Haye is gunning for him.
Personally I like all these camera crew shenanigans, it'd get boring if all the fighters were doing it, but they're not. It worked a treat for Ali when trying to get Liston in the ring and it's no doubt worked since, it adds interest to the fight IMO. Thompson and Povetkin are higher in the queue than Haye and they'll get their shot first, Hayes just trying to make sure he's third in the queue and calling Wlad out publicly should help his causedeadpan wrote: My views are -

Who knows what would happen if Lennox was still about, haye would have definately used a different tact to get the fight, but I don't think Haye is calling out Wlad because he's chinny, Haye's already proved he wants the BIGGEST fights he can get and he doesn't want to hang about for them.deadpan wrote:2. I don't understand the 'shit or bust' analogy, if Haye loses to Wlad he's not bust, he's just been beaten by the best current HW. Haye is a fans fighter who wants the BIG fights, IMO we should be appreciating his attitude rather than giving reasons of why he shouldn't be allowed to fight him. It's only been recently (esp the Sky years) that we couldn't get a Brit in a decent fight
I've no doubt that Haye would fight Wlad straight away given the chance, but he now realises he's going to have to wait while Wlad deals with his mandatories, so Haye will work himself into position with a decent named heavy or 2, then hopefully a year from now we'll see Haye spark that Bum (providing Povetkin doesn't beat him to it)deadpan wrote:3. Haye won't get the fight straight away of course, he is just making sure that when the fight does come off, it is hyped to the max.
If Lennox was around today I think Hae would be gunning for him too.
He wants to fight the best out there, and Lennox was certainly that.
Although, Lennox would have splattered him in 2 or 3 rounds probably.
Wlad is not the easy touch some think he is.
He punched himself out in two of his defeats(similar to how Haye himself lost to "The Cat")and got caught cold by a heavy handed southpaw, with fast hands. He still kept getting up though in that fight, just as he did against Peter(where he looked like he lacked confidence)
He has never been outboxed, and probably never will. The ONLY chance Haye has is to knock him out early given Haye's own stamina issues.
Haye has the talent, speed and probably the power to stop Wlad, but that means he will have to avoid getting tagged by the sports hardest puncher whilst coming in, who is hardly lacking in skill.
It's possible, but I would only give Haye a 25-30% chance max against Wlad.
I also think Povetkin beats Haye providing he can take his power.
Look forward to seeing it all unfold.

How?? Thats a rediculous statement...Max Molyneux wrote:

Audley ran his mouth off from the start of his career, before he'd even had a pro fight.... saying he'd beat that bum williams and win the british title within 5 fights... in contrast, Haye has only started like this recently.... previously, whilst being massively confident, has been far calmer and well spoken.... these recent outbursts (which I find pretty funny to be honest) are only to generate interest in a dire and boring heavyweight division, and to promote a fight further down the line... Haye is a very intelligent chap - and whilst he knows that his outbursts are going to turn as many people against him as they do attract - they WILL generate a lot of interest in him and his future.
Clever move IMO.... and to back it up, he CAN, and more importantly WILL fight and take on the best. Much unlike Audley.

Haye is getting his name known without even fighting - in addition to add to that he is the Undisputed Cruiserweight Champion Of The World.
A good bit of propaganda - good move - slag off the World Heavyweight Champion Of The World whilst your name is still good and popular with the media - it gets you even more publicity and marketting - especially when you are in negoitiations for a contract with a promoter!!! - or is he still ??

Doesn't matter when he started to run his mouth he's still running It like Harrison at Heavyweight while not proving It at HW. Cruiserweights mean nothing to the Heavyweights.EddieShredder wrote:How?? Thats a rediculous statement...Max Molyneux wrote:

Was Roy Jones not allowed to proclaim his greatness before fighting John Ruiz then? He didn't achieve anything at heavyweight, either. Haye and Jones are obviously a way apart in terms of achievement, but the same thing still applies. Christ, this is boxing not a tupperware meet. Fighters can call out other fighters...especially if you're the undisputed freaking champ.Max Molyneux wrote:Doesn't matter when he started to run his mouth he's still running It like Harrison at Heavyweight while not proving It at HW. Shit, I remember when Bernard Hopkins was talking about jumping through three divisions and fighting Oleg Maskaev for the WBC heavyweight title. Would you have stopped that and said Hopkins needs to prove himself? Maybe you would. I'd have loved to have seen it.
yes great point.....he is looking at Wlad's perceived "weakness" such as being so big he's slower and shall we say "tentative" and he's thinking hang on one decent shot and I can fell that oak tree.deadpan wrote:It smacks of 'shit or bust' to me. Wlad's chin is Waterford Crystal so Haye fancies his chances. Would Haye be calling out Lennox if he were still the Top Man?
Would you fancy Haye against Valuev? Peter? Chagaev? Ruiz? Povetkin?
Yet he expects to leapfrog them all and face the No.1 in the division straight away.
It's ludicrous.
You're completely right, he should have to earn his shot, guys like Povetkin could pose Haye an argument, plus he's got more credence at the heavier weight. Likewise Valuev with that huge jab allied to the fact Haye would need a ladder almost to reach him. Suddenly a first round KO over Bonin doesn't look quite like ample preparation.
All of that said though I'm pretty sure Dave Haye can pack as hard a punch as Corrie Sanders if he felt "right".
I don't get peoples problem even in that video he states an intention to fight top 10 fighters while waighting for the shot, that means that if he does so he should get his shot pretty soon anyway and you couldn't argue he deserved it. Furthermore as I have said below which HW has done more to make it worth a shot.
oh yeah.....and then we'd have to listen to acertain Mr Harrison going round saying he was gonna become undisputed British Champion 2008, undisputed 2009
jokes aside though I would hate to imagine what it's like to lose a close relative before their time like Audley has and I wish the big guy strength.

Re: If Wlad was British...
i think that anyway tbh.deadpan wrote:and the World Cruiserweight champ, Daveed Hayev from the Ukraine was calling out our fighter and confronting him in public, wouldn't the response be who does this frickin' chancer think he is, he's lost to a 40 year old bloke, and if Hayev wants a title tilt he needs to beat some ranked fighters and earn his shot. It's not enough to beat a very fringe contender with a padded record and then proclaim the HW division owes you a living.
Just a thought. I think.
And I'm a massive Haye fan.
haye is class.
but keep him away from someone tough with a good chin and workrate.
povetkin would toast him.

David Haye, whether he wins or loses, should be considered a breath of fresh air in the most boring heavyweight division since the bunch of talented, yet overweight (Tubbs) and junkies (Thomas) we had to put up with in the 80s until Tyson came along.
And I think Haye should go about trying to carve his way through some contenders on a year-long campaign to further win over a combination of fans/TV/alphabet boys and force the titlists to fight him.
Haye's not all that big a heavyweight, for sure, but he's not that small either and how he made cruiserweight I'll never know. There's hardly an ounce of fat on that frame of his.
Why shouldn't Haye talk himself up because the current moribund bunch aren't exactly wowing us lot are they. Wlad's gunshy, Peter's going the Riddick Bowe route and eating his way out of a career (he got bounced around by Jameel McCline FFS)!
He may love himself a bit too much but Haye's ready to fight anyone and you gotta love him for that.
